Others expressed the same sentiment: Bam Adebayo has said he’s committed to the team, while DeMar DeRozan, Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, Jaylen Brown, Donovan Mitchell, Khris Middleton, Julius Randle, Zach LaVine, Aaron Gordon, Fred VanVleet and Brook Lopez are among those who indicated they would play if asked. Kyrie Irving said the same at Dallas’ media day last week, and Draymond Green previously indicated that he wants another Olympic opportunity.

This much is clear: There are 12 roster spots and a lot more than 12 interested players. It’s a wonderful problem for USA Basketball to have.

I'd be fine with sitting some of those guys out.  Middleton, for instance.  Personally, I don't want Green there, either.

It’s not too hard to envision Draymond doing something stupid in international play, is it? Please keep him far away from Team USA.

I would love to see Embiid playing for Cameroon instead. Those African teams have been doing better in these international tournaments and it’d be great to have more star power.

Embiid wants a gold medal so his accomplishments dont look so empty at the end of his career. 0 championships unless he latches onto someone else at the end of his career.
ok fine

USA Basketball is aggressively pursuing Boston Celtics All-Star guard Jrue Holiday to return to Team USA for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, sources told ESPN. Holiday, 33, has yet to decide, but USA officials — with managing director Grant Hill leading the way — are hopeful that Holiday will commit to be one of the 12 members on next year’s Team USA Olympic team, sources told ESPN. – via Adrian Wojnarowski @ ESPN

Team USA struggled defensively in the FIBA world championships this summer in the Philippines and Holiday’s on-ball defense, playmaking and leadership are among the factors that are fueling USA Basketball’s recruitment. – via Adrian Wojnarowski @ ESPN

A tad concerning they are focusing on guard defense instead of interior defense & rebounding which was where their true problems were.

More small ball.

What don’t you like about Embiid?
Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time.

But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.

What don’t you like about Embiid?

Personally I am disappointed that Embiid chose to the US over his home nation.

Embiid & Pascal Siakam would have been a formidable front court. I believe Nicolas Batum’s father was from Cameroon and he’s previously stated a desire to play for the african nation before he retired.

A competitive Olympics is what’s best for international basketball.
