“We’re not hiding Markelle Fultz, we’re not protecting him…people are going to see the results during the season, and that’s all that matters.

I literally think that, if he’s back to 100 percent, I think he’s immediately an All-Star. I know that’s a bold statement, but I work with a lot of other All-Stars. So, I think I have the right to say that."

And by including "if he's back to 100%" in the statement, he has an excuse if when he is clearly not an all star
I'm bitter.

Yeah, "it's not me, it's his health!" is a good loophole to leave

Mental health, that is.  I just have no faith that this guy has the right head for the NBA.

Lol, that was pretty much my exact response to this little puff piece.

Yeah, with Fultz it seems like the mental aspect is his problem.

But if he got things figured out this season, he was the #1 pick for a reason. No one should be surprised if he played at an all star level this season (although I can't imagine Philly have 3 all stars).

Sorry couldn't resist.

While I don't agree with the All-Star assessment I believe if he's healthy he will be a very good player next season - one who has bad games against the stifling defense of BOS.

I can live with that.

I still have a lot of belief in Fultz despite last season. When all is said and done, I think Fultz will have a better career than Embiid and Simmons.

I think Embiid's career will be wrecked by injuries. Simmons, I am not convinced by his lack of a jump-shot and lack of progress in developing a jump-shot over the last few years. I think Fultz is the most complete player of the three and will be a future All-Star (although probably not next year).

None of us knows what he’ll be next year - variance in his projected value is off the charts. He has the physical tools but that was a very bad case of the yips last year.

If I had to bet, it’d be on the yips continuing but I make the bet with no confidence.

If Fultz doesn’t pull out if this and the Cs get a top-5 pick from Sacto next year that could be one of the most lopsided transactions in NBA history.

If mentally and physically healthy, I can see it in 2-3 years. But that mental aspect is unpredictable.

Rooting for the kid. He was going near the top of the draft for a reason. Sometimes 19 years olds don't react well to pressure so hopefully he can get stronger mentally.

Not sure why so many Cs fans want this guy to fail. The C's got a stud in Tatum already and liekly another lottery pick. You should be happy regardless of what happens to Fultz.
