I am interested to see how we defend Giannis with Porzingis starting. Will it be Tatum as the primary Giannis stopper?

Will Giannis be the primary Tatum stopper on the other end? I wonder how that will go for Giannis. He is more of a help defender than a man defender.

I'm interested to see how Porzingis does. If we're being honest, Timelord wasn't really a good matchup against MIL. And compared to Timelord, Porzingis offers an additional scoring threat from anywhere (even beyond the arc) which would make it very tough for MIL overall.

Kind of the same thing against Miami. Bam had a great night, but his 27 points came from taking 25 shots, and KP still had 17/9 on 50% shooting and probably could have had more if he didn't foul out. Timelord's a way better defender but sometimes he couldn't score well either which would tank the offense at times.

Probably no Tatum tonight...seems he is sick.

If that is the case, this game won't be nearly as important.

The Tatum news is definitely a bit deflating.

Maybe we'll get an MJ flu game out of him, though.

Hmm .. yeah, good call. Their defense doesn't do well with floor stretching bigs. They like to hang back towards the paint to protect the basket. MIL's D should struggle against Porzingis and our team offense.

Based on everything we've seen so far, I was expecting White to guard Lillard and Jrue to square up against Giannis. That would be something if Jrue were able to slow him down a bit. White gives us the luxury of letting Jrue guard someone else other than Lillard. Brown on Beasley is fine, Tatum (if he plays) on Middleton is fine, KP on Lopez makes sense.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe
Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka

This is what really exposes our lack of size.  I don't really want Tatum trying to cover Giannis.  Putting Holiday on him isn't much better.  I get that these mis-matches go both ways but as it stands, this puts us at a distinct disadvantage.

Giannis is averaging about 33 min.  Al about 24 min.  Maybe we should play Al mostly when Giannis is out there.  Let Brissett or Kornet play more to help with Portis and/or Lopez, when Porzingis isn't out there.  Of course if Tatum isn't available at all, there would need to be other major adjustments.

Holliday just has to stay in front of him. If Giannis tries to shoot over him, he’s not exactly the best jump shooter

I’m sure if Tatum plays, he will be on Middleton

I like the idea of giving Oshae a decent amount of run tonight. He's been disappointing this season so far outside of pure energy. This is why he was brought in -- to give an honest effort in these matchups. Let's see it.

I think that is oversimplifying things a bit.  CHA got 8 more ORebs than us on Monday, for example.  I am not sure how many points those additional possessions resulted in but it is not a stretch to guess that it was enough to lose us the game.  How many more ORebs do you think Giannis will get over Holiday rather than an actual PF?  Also, all Giannis has to do is back Holiday down or post him up and he can score over him.  Or it will force double teams.

If we end up with Holiday on Giannis, I am sure he will battle, but it is not a favorable match up.  And since we tried this on Embiid, it won't be a surprise.  Giannis will be licking his chops and waiting for it.

My cable isn't working -- won't be able to fix till after the weekend.
Any suggestions - preferably free - on how to stream upcoming games?

What is Fubo?  I am anxious about signing up for these things.

Does your cable provider have an app to stream your cable package?
