I think 50 wins is about right, with good health and momentum going into the playoffs

why would i lie about my win prediction? also if i was going to lie why not pick the actual number of wins.

I think his point was that your prediction was about as irrelevant as imaginable, unless you came out and stated that half the team would be missing the majority of the year.

If you predicted 27 wins for 'the team', you'd be wrong, because 'the team' was seldom available.  Had you predicted 27 wins for the bench you'd be closer to being right.

I'm stickying this so as to get a better feel on how optimistic people are.  Can we please get back on topic, rather than bickering over who did or did not predict a sub-30 win season last year?

Stickying? Say what?

I feel 45 is about right for this team assuming they shore up the point guard position with someone other than Eddie House or Gabe Pruitt. People don't seem to realize how important the point guard position is and even though Rondo has a lot of potential, he's not there yet.

So, how many wins for the Timberwolves while we're speculating?

I'm going with 50 and 32. They'll start off the season playing .500 ball, and then as roles get defined, our core raotation develops and chemistry builds, they'll break out and play much better basketball.

a team like this starting .500? are you serious? even without the trades and of course the injuries we could be a .500 team with rayray and KG i say wed start at least .650 or somethin like that

Barring multiple injuries like they had last year, this team will win 50 games. If they can add 1 or 2 more decent role players (like Reggie Miller, and a backup PG) that number should go up even higher. Either way, they will win the Atlantic, and end up with a 2 or 3 seed.

assuming no one is injured, dies, or jailed.....

my bet is for 50-32.

i can see why some folks are arguing for a few more wins, but i think that doc's inability to handle rotations off the bench will cost the team at least 2-3 wins.

You can't make a condition like "barring injury" on a prediction.  If you think there is a high risk of injury, you need to figure that into your prediction.  If you think everyone will stay healthy, that is part of your prediction.  (arrgghhh)

Anyway, 51-31

A 50 and 32 record gives us a .610 winning percentage.

I predict a fast start fueled by excitement and enthusiasm leading to good defense, something like 10 and 2 or even better....then a tapering off when the defense sags.....followed at some point later by total dominance.....

58 and 24
