If there's a lockout, we'd need some distraction to carry us through until there's basketball again. I wouldn't want this blog to die, and it would probably explode if it was only politics and news we could talk about.

So, here's my idea:

30 different people each get assigned one team in the league. Then, using the cap rules exactly as they are, in one thread (so no sketchy back door dealings) we one by one bid on free agents and construct teams. The we have one official NBA 2k10 or NBA live and reassign the teams to mirror how we formed them here. Then we run a simulation season of all 30 teams and 82 games...at the pace the regular season goes!!

I really don't like simulating seasons in 2k10 because the simulation is often ludicrously silly.

To illustrate:  my friend and I simulated a season using the most recent rosters (including rookies) and the Lakers didn't even make the playoffs.  The Heat were defeated in the first round by the 8th seeded Nets.

Nuff said.  Simulating seasons sucks.

Now, I'd be all for forming an online sim league for anybody on the board who has 2k10 / 2k11 and X-Box Live.

haha jk good thinking but I mean, do you really see this entire board discussing simulated games for an entire season? +1 for the effort and thought though

Can someone explain to me precisely what this lockout entails? I understand the gist of it all but any detail would be appreciated.
