Sad day.  I remember watching Tony as a kid and just loving the way he played the game.

Best pure hitter since Ted Williams.  Guy was just a hitting professional.  .338 career average which is insane to think about.   He also just seemed like a genuinely good guy. 

As a kid playing little league then Babe Ruth baseball in the early-mid '90s and, as a lefty hitter, he & Boggs were the two guys I tried to emulate.

i've had the pleasure of meeting him and talking to him a few times in sd. great guy, could not have been more humble and courteous. wish there were more like him in professional sports. he will be missed.
