Knicks just waived Taj Gibson.

He’s 37. Yikes.

I’d still consider him.

We should get the best big man possible using the Fournier TPE.

We need to find some dirt on the Orlando ownership, they're hording all the young bigs. lol

If he can still play I'd take him too.

Gibson, for what it’s worth, can still contribute to winning. Excellent technical defender. Dude is always in the right place. His shot blocking has somehow gotten better with age. He started draining corner 3s with consistency at the end of last season. Beloved teammate, too.

Love it. Good replacement for Theis. Mobile undersized defensive big man. Bit of skill on offense.

I did not realize Taj Gibson was that old. I would've guessed 34-35.

I cannot remember anything about him specifically from last season but I thought he was still moving well on a defense the previous season (2020-21). That Taj Gibson was still a useful contributor.

Gibson joins Howard as useful options left as a vet min 5. I’d take him.

Just reported that Spurs making Poeltl and Richardson available. Too expensive though given our tax situation.

They were looking for another center / backup center. Maybe offered him regular playing time. Doubt anybody else was.

If the Celtics were interested, I bet they have the budget to swap Grant for Poeltl, since that’s only about $5 million net.  Not sure that makes sense from a basketball perspective, however.

Grabbing Poeltl with the TPE would be huge for this team. Yes, the owners have to pay a tax big time this year, but if they extend Poeltl, they have the perfect Horford replacement for the future when Al's $27 million come off the books next year.

Meanwhile for this year, it would make the Celtics one of, if not the strongest defensive interior team's in the league and allow a reduction in minutes for Al and Timelord so they are injury free and rested for a long playoff run.

Poeltl for two unprotected first and the TPE could do it. Maybe you thrown in Pritchard.

Smart/Brogdon
Brown/White
Tatum/Grant
Horford/Gallo
Timelord/Poeltl

Love that team's balance and talent level. A very serious 10 deep team

Didn't realize Poeltl is only 26.  Perfect backup center for the next few years with the Jays and Rob.
