I'm with the following group:

The Celtics are beating a team they are supposed to beat. I don't agree with applying "style points"...they are just beating Indiana.

Hopefully, this trend will continue.

Switch or not the good news is we've already won more road games than we did all of the last playoffs.

Nah, they only beat the #1 seed in the East, on the road, by 22.

Next time, do it by 30+

You can't just play the regular season and then flip a switch in the playoffs.

Wait.....maybe you can!

It's all about effort. I'm finally seeing that level of effort I want to see in the playoffs.

Some kind of switch was flipped.  I've been hesitant to say that the switch has been flipped - that we're a completely different team than the inconsistent, underachieving team we were in the regular season... but the reason I'm coming around to this whole "switch" thing has been our play on the road.  We're 3-0 against tough teams that play good defense.  We were a poor road team in the regular season.  That and our defense has reached another level.

If we put together a really solid game 2 - even if we happen to lose by a small margin - I will be on board that the switch has been flipped.

Did the Celtics flip their switch or did the Bucks just fail to flip their switch.  With a game like that, it is impossible to determine whether the result had more to do with the Celtics playing well or the Bucks playing bad.

I did not see the whole game but it seemed to me that the Bucks laid an egg.  They will play better I predict.  I think the game today showed that the Celtics can win this series but the whole complexion of the series changes if the Bucks come out strong and win game 2.  I hope the Celtics stay on this and strive to play even better.

C's finally looked like the team we all thought they could be. Hopefully they keep it up.

We played very very well. Seemed like the Bucks’ defensive intensity wasn’t there today. We’ll see what they bring next time!

If the Bucks come out in Game 2 blowing out the Celtics, it'll be a series again with Boston holding home-court advantage.

That means, Boston needs to defend all three home games.

They look like they've flipped the switch defensively at least. Here's their defensive rating in the playoffs, vs pre- and post-All Star break.

Code: [Select]
Boston Def Rating
Playoffs 91.9
Post All Star 110.1
Pre All Star 105.7

Yes, it was against Indiana who everyone says (and knows) sucks balls and are worse than useless so nothing good we do against them should be counted, right? Well here's Indiana's offensive rating in this series as well as pre- and post-All Star break (when they had lost Dipo).

Code: [Select]
Indiana Off Rating
Playoffs 91.9
Post All Star 109.3
Pre All Star 109.3

While I agree performances against a washed up has been team of also rans like Indiana need to be taken with a grain of salt, I don't subscribe to the theory that just because they suck our performances against them are meaningless. The offensive rating of this useless bunch of no hopers (which coincidentally is the same pre-and post-ASB) is around the same as our own post-ASB rating which was 109.7. They haven't broken 100 points in the 3 games they've played us.

Now what remains to be seen is whether we can flip the offensive switch for what remains of this series and what is coming up ahead.

We've definitely done it defensively, you could have argued that keeping Indy to below 100 a game wasn't all that hard considering how shorthanded they are, but this Milwaukee team is an offensive powerhouse and we kept them to 90 points.

Offensively I think we struggled at times during the Indy series but we played a lot more PnR against Milwaukee (mainly because they were giving us open shots) and it led to a lot of points and assists. Our ball movement was good and we shot 54% overall and 41% from 3. We probably won't do that again (Kyrie admitted as much) but there's definitely a greater sense of urgency within the team, as well as a resilience that wasn't there during the regular season.
