Would be killer if Brewer was the 4th wing, rather than the 3rd.

How about a second unit of

Donkey
Brewer
Howard
Shrek
JO/Perk after all star break. We still need another big to fill out the second unit. Not sure who could fill that role.

If that happens I will start sewing banner 18. Just sprinkle in a little Kwame Brown, kurt Thomas, etc.

Getting Ronnie Brewer would be huge.  A lock down defender that doesn't have the major downside of being a walking turnover.  Plus he can finish and is very athletic, would be nice running the floor.

It'd be a great fit. Hopefully we can win out, sounds like there's a lot of interest.

minimum wager? or will the C's need to try to swing a trade?

If there's competition, it'll have to be through a trade...

Sign and trade with TA since TA's going to sign with Memphis whom Ronnie Brewer is a restricted free-agent for.  I wonder if that will happen.

It’d make sense.

I like TA a bit better for his great defense, physicality and rebounding, but Brewer is a lot better option than most.

Like Daniels, Rondo and TA he's crap from 3, but unlike them, he's half-decent from mid-range.  He can even handle the ball a bit and make some solid passes.

Defense is a few levels below TA's (Kobe, for one, has given Brewer all sorts of problems 1-on-1) but still pretty good and he's an excellent transition weapon.

All told, he's like a more athletic Marquis Daniels.

If TA never blew out his knee he’d be better than Ronnie... but since we’re in reality... I think it will be a good pickup. He also adds that outside shot to stretch the D.

Plus he’s used to playing off of a great point guard. He knows how to make himself available.

How can we possibly get Brewer without Sheed's contract?  I think Danny is exploring this option in lieu of Howard, rather than in addition to Howard.

if the Cs wanted ronnie brewer, why didn't / don't they s&t TA to Memphis for him?

I believe we still can.

I'm hoping this is why Memphis' signing of Allen hasn't been made official yet. Would love it if we could get Brewer in exchange.

Edit: You can probably scratch Utah off the list as well. The Jazz have signed Raja Bell to a 3 year, $10 million deal.

Yeah, I just don't see it. If the Grizzles want Tony Allen, they can sign him, why do they do an S&T to help the C's out? If Ronnie Brewer is as good as TA, why would the Grizzles sign TA when RB is their own RFA?

Brewer is going to want more money and more years and Sheed's contract, plus inducements, would have to be involved. So, I can see the C's getting Ronnie, but not Ronnie *and* somebody else...for instance Howard.

I sincerely hope we aren't putting all our eggs in the Ronnie Brewer/Josh Howard baskets. I'm thinking Matt Barnes and Raja Bell would have been better additions than either of them.

I would be happy if we could somehow nab Howard, but I don't see him coming to Boston.

Matt Barnes sucks. From reading Celticsblog people would think that we drafted him or something... “Bring back Matt Barnes"

What’s going on with Ronnie now?

Most reports are saying he wants Chicago?

Anyone have any info?
