Quote
Chicago, Boston, Portland, Utah, Washington and Cleveland in the hunt for Ronnie Brewer, sources tell SI.

TA's replacement?  The other wing we were looking at getting even when we thought Tony was staying here?  Or both?

I for one hope that if we do get Brewer, which I wouldn't mind, that he is TA's replacement and we still get another wing or vice versa.

Sorry Mods this should have gone in Celtics Talk or Trade Ideas and Rumors.  Feel free to move it.

I hope it'd be vet min, but I bet it would have to be through a trade.  Could it end up being a sign and trade with Memphis and TA since Brewer is on the Grizzlie's right now?

If there's competition, it'll have to be through a trade...
Celtics fan for life.

Sign and trade with TA since TA's going to sign with Memphis whom Ronnie Brewer is a restricted free-agent for.  I wonder if that will happen.

It may very well be through a S&T using TA. That would make the most sense. However, I would really fear Chicago here. I don't know how much money they have remaining, but if Orlando matches for Reddick, then they may move that money on Brewer.

I hope we can land him using the TA deal straight up. Then we can use Sheeds deal to land 2 pieces or a shooting wing player.

I just wonder how much DA's insistence on 2 year deals are going to affect who we can sign, as many of these guys are going to want 3-5 year deals.

I'd have preferred TA, but Brewer would be a decent replacement for TAs role....especially if Danny could get him through a S&T for TA and still keep the Sheed chip...

I would love for us to get Brewer for a trade for T. Allen straight up. I actually think Brewer is the better smarter player. Taller and more talented that can play the 2 and 3. I would give TA the edge in toughness though. Then we could use the Sheed trade chip to give Shaq who I feel we desperately need still. Shaq helps balance out our lineups better with J.O. and sliding to the bench as a bonafide key reserve.

If Boston offers say 2 years at 3 million per and Ronnie bites soon, I like that trade.

His agent is also Wade and Bosh's so not sure if there is interest there. We can out bid Miami; however may be others. He would be a great complement if he can keep his hamstring healthy.

Brewer younger and healthier than Tony. Otherwise, very similar; good defense, weak outside shooter, athletic. awful mechanics.

How about a second unit of

Donkey
Brewer
Howard
Shrek
JO/Perk after all star break. We still need another big to fill out the second unit. Not sure who could fill that role.
