Weight has to be a concern with Smart. At the NBA combines Dude measured 6'2 and 227. Needs to drop a biscuit or 2.

have you seen Smart? He's extremely fit and jacked, that weight is muscle, which is why he's such a warrior at the 2

I think Smart comes off the bench for Rondo. This talk of Rondo being gone I think is premature.

I think Bradley gets included in a SnT around 7 mil?

Could Bradley, Bass, Olynyk, Bogans and a future pick(s) get us back Love and Martin?

Or maybe Bradley SnT for a center? Gortat maybe?
Play to win.  Always.

I like smart and think he's strong, but his body fat was over 10.5%, so he might be carrying a little extra somewhere.

Not too thrilled about the pick.  I don't follow college ball, though.  Maybe Smart will be a starter.

It's a shame, though, because everything I hear about Exum is that he's a future superstar... and we lost him due to a coin flip.

Marcus Smart at #6 is a great selection. He could have been the 4th pick in this draft if not for him being a hot head and had a bad shooting percentage (his shot selection needs improvement). But even last year, everyone who matters thought he's a star in the making. Ultra competitive, highly skilled, very strong for his position and has the passion and the fire that probably outside of Rondo, this Celtics team doesn't have. He can also attack the basket. I mean, FINALLY, someone on this team who can draw fouls and go to the line.

It's funny. You drove this tanking bandwagon hard (and I went and rode in it), we got in a very good position and picked a very good prospect and your disappointed? Well, tanking doesn't always mean a top 3 (or 5 for this matter) pick, or did you just expect that it's a sure fire thing?

I believe Smart is a 6'4" SG with PG skills. Put him at the 2.

If Bradley and Rondo can play together, so can Smart and Rondo.

People said a lot of the same things about Wade.. in fact they use to list him as a PG.

I think Dwyane Wade is the best NBA comparison for Smart. A bit undersized for the position, but athletic, strong and is fearless and can get to the rim and sometimes create for others.

If a 2 PG system worked in Phoenix, it can work anywhere else. And Smart is not even a PG.

I mean, I like the Dwyane Wade comparison in terms of what a strong, athletic, aggressive two guard can become in the NBA without much of a jump shot, and that's an elite player.  That said, you're really doing a disservice to Smart if you think Smart is going to become that.  Is it the tippy top of his ceiling?  Probably.  Is it likely that he'll become that?  No, not at all.  But he does have superstar ceiling, and it's at a different position than Rondo.

If Sully can improve on his three-point shooting, you could have three outside shooters on the court with Smart and Rondo (Green, Sully, and Olynyk). The doom and gloom and insistence of trading Rondo is completely unnecessary.  The can coexist just fine.

  • Let's Go Celtics!
But unfortunately, two guards who can't shoot......   :-\

I'm not as worried about the shooting,  as long aa there are good shooters around them. Green is a respectable 3 pt shooter, Sully and KO will continue to improve in that area. Brad Stevens will just have to think outside the box - run a more inverted offense.

I think Smart could replace what Bradley is providing; A two-headed PG monster in a line-up works;
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;

Who exactly did you want him to draft? randle, the worse version of sully with only 1 post move and bad feet? or vonleh, the overrated guy who quit on indiana ? after that theres a clear dip in talent.

never draft for need. you end up with fab melo and jajuan johnson.
