Now that it’s almost certain that Irving & Al are gone I’m thinking that our biggest need is point guard & hoping they pass on Rozier.
Problem I see is that there’s not a point guard that’s worth picking up at  14, maybe Aleksander at 20??

No idea at this point what they do.

Could see them trading up, trading out, trading some of the picks. If they don't take a PG, I would expect we see Rozier back

They have to get front court help.

I would argue the Celtics have two key needs:

1. Acquire either a solid PG or Center prospect
2. Get rid of at least two picks

I think this eliminates any thoughts of Boston drafting Herro. They have other needs than a spot up shooter.

I know a lot of people are going to say center, but we at least have guys on the team who are centers like Williams and Baynes. What we need is an actual stretch 4, somebody with the size and who can hit a three because althouth Tatum/Hayward will get run there without Horford and Morris we will be thin. Sekou Doumbouya is intriguing to me, 6'9 with a 7 foot wingspan and 230 pounds at age 18. Most mocks have him somewhere 8-12 so we may need to move up but we have the ammo to get into that range. At PG a guy like Nikiel Walker-Alexander would be interesting, pretty good passer with size.

Number one priority is to draft the absolute best players with most upside talent when the team makes its selections. Doesn't matter where they play, just more high end talent. You can figure out who plays where and for how long later.

Yeah, definitely BPA. We don't have the luxury of drafting for need

DRAFT BPE

we will be stuck with a German stiff center and a undersized point guard that can't shoot if we draft by need

Was going to say the same thing.  This isn't the NFL where first round players generally start right away and a fair number become stars.  In the NBA it's crap shoot outside of the top 3-4 in most years.  So you grab the guy YOU think will be a player regardless of position.

Agreed.

Ideally that BPA ends up being a need like pg or big, but if its not so be it. we don’t have the luxury of drafting for need. We need to try to acquire the best talent we can. We are back in the talent acquisition phase.

So would it be reasonable to think that we are now Drafting 3 players?

Obviously the big man positions. We need a legit PF and C. Hoping that we can grab Samanic/Bazley with the latter picks, and Bitadze with #14.

You'd ideally have one more as insurance at this point.
