Boy does that bring back memories.  That was one tough Blazers squad.  Back then I couldn't stand Terry Porter.  And look how young Fox was.  Thanks for remembering!

Definitely one of my favorite games of all time.

It really was one of Larry's last harrahs.  He was amazing this game.

Awesome game.

It took a special breed of player to make the game look effortless. So many players can be extremely effective, but with most of them it seems like they are working for it. Ray Allen comes to mind as a player who just makes it look so easy/beautiful. Clyde Drexler had that quality too.

41 pts, 11 ast, 8 reb before fouling out. Not a bad day for The Glide.

Of course, he ran into Larry and his 49 pts, 14 reb, 12 ast day. Tough break, smooth one.
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

That's exactly my memory.  After church game and a nailbiter to remember.  Larry's 3 was a classic too.  And Bagley always looked like a hobbit out there.

I promised I wouldn't post for a few days, but I need to ask whether anyone thinks Bird's 3 to tie the game at the end of regulation (or was it OT?) was really a 3. I was sitting about 10 rows up from the court seats directly behind the Celtics' basket. I swear that Bird's foot was on the line and then he jumped forward and drained the shot. They called it a 3, but I think it was 2.

Hail to Larry Legend!!! Truly an amazing game!!!  8)

As a fan from Europe that was too young at this time I would like to ask you fellow Celtic fans: Was ist already clear at that time, that No. 33 would retire or was there still hope for another season? What were your feelings watching Larry on the tail end of his career?
Behold the might of the Edelweiss!!!
