Good summary, Employee8. Love it.

Actually, let me steal that:

1) UI Designer at Trixan
2) Freelance "Web Designer", from SEO to UX to Front-end coding to CMS implementation (yeh, I know, should have stopped after "Web Designer)
3) Avid basketball freak (read, play, watch, write, in that order)
4) Mister Hobby man (Apart from the above, computer games, tabletop games, miniature modelling & painting, guitar playing, movie, anime and series watching, drawing, etc)

Number 3 & 4 are not as much "for a living" as the are the opposite: to enjoy my living :)

Adobo is very good, but my favorites are Singang na Baboy, Pandesal, Ensaymada, Shrimp Pinakbet, Longganisa, Lechon Manok, (yum!), Babingka, Halo-Halo, (extra-yum!), and street food like Lumpia, Kamote-Cue, Taho, and Kwek-Kwek.

I have to say, I was very reluctant to eat many things there, but I promised Rose that I would try anything at least once. Her mother's specialty was Fried Palaka, and it was delicious!, (I never told my Mom, though, cuz that's her favorite animal) ... however, I did not like the Tamilok in Cebu, and I could only eat Balut once, (though Rose at it almost every night, haha).

I had to look-up what Tamilok was ... they are long mangrove-boring mollusks that look like worms.  I am amazed that you were so brave as to try them!   :o

I've never tried Kwek-Kwek .. so I guess they were not available during my days at the University of the Philippines (where it supposedly originated.)

I used to eat balut frequently but after spending 25+ years here in the U.S. with minimal exposure to balut, I can no longer eat the sisiw.  Eeeewww!

Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay in the Philippines.

There are lots of Celtics fans (including Pacquiao) back home. Go Celtics!!!

- Own and operate my own internet-based manufacturing company called Killer Guitar Components.  We make high-end guitar bridges and other components.  If any of you play, drop me a line and I can hook you up with a CB discount!

-I worked in Manufacturing/Engineering for a number of years but after I was laid off for the second time in 3 years last July, I decided to really push forward with my own company.  It's been more successful every month to date!  Hoping it continues this way so I can actually start putting some $$ in my pocket rather than right back into the company...  ???

Check out our website and let me know what you think.

I'm a Boston-based Independent Filmmaker (check out my sig to see my newest film) and also a Video Production Specialist for WEEI sports radio.

Prof. Clutch I am very interested in learning more about what you do at WEEI if you'd be kind enough to share.  I'll be checking out your new independent film by the way.

crap. i dont know if i have responded on this thread or not...but given the sorry state of celtics and nba related news i will respond again since i must move.

i make a living, defined as making money to bills i assume, by serving (and i do mean serving) as director at an international program for professionals. and i also teach.

the program is located somewhere between california and new york and in the [dang]ed basement of our building.

but perhaps a better question is how we live the lives we pay for by working. :)

Full time pre-med student.  So I guess that makes me a professional loan taker for the time being.

Great thread, I find it fascinating hearing about what people do, especially when they love it.

Love this thread.  I'm a filmmaker and I teach media production to youth.  So I'm a starving artist who's not above painting the occasional house or whatever to pay the bills.

I edited a documentary series about the Boston Celtics called Greentown's Finest with my brother, known here as Prof. Clutch: check it - www.greentownsfinest.com

I am presently in pre-production on a short film, which you can check out by clicking on my sig  :)

My girlfriend has the same "issue" ;)

She does film (wants to direct, does camera, editing & directing) as a freelance gig, and waits right in front of the Sydney Opera house as a money-maker :D
