Does adding Tyreke Evans now even matter that much?

On paper CLE got a lot better and also younger (better defense too)
On paper. But turning over 1/3 of your roster and 4 players in you rotation means it could take a long time to adjust. Also, Clarkson, Hood and Nance provide very little playoff experience.

Still think a healthy Celtics and Raptors team have great chance at winning the East.

Yeah and it depends on if Lue can even make it work and figure out the rotations and such (not easy).
Well, I think Lebron will figure it out.

At this point think Boston is going to the buyout route

Joe Johnson? I'd like him.

I was thinking that also. Just heard IT does not want to come off the bench in LA...might be bought out there

I think Magic will sit down with IT and work something out.  It’s better for both sides.

We still can't get IT back right? Does it matter if it is from another team after we traded him, or is it still a year?

Repeat that part "if Lue can even make it work" lol....But me, I am not super high on Lue as a coach.  I like him even less as a coach that is required to retool his entire roster on the fly (with 30 games left), while not having your 2nd best player (Love) while trying to make up a 7 game head start by Toronto and Boston.

So then IT gets bought out, who picks him up?

No, I mean convince him to stay and be happy in LA for the remainder of the season.

Cavs can start:

Hill
Smith
LeBron
Love (when back)
Thompson

That is only one new starter added to the long time core, and Hill is a reliable veteran so I don't see that as a big issue.

The bench will be Clarkson, Hood, Green, and Nance.  Lots of versatility.  They are going to be a very tough out in the playoffs, other than for GSW.

Oh, I completely misunderstood your comment.  My bad.  So IT and Ball as their backcourt?  It just doesn't seem like a good combo.  IT needs the ball in his hands, Ball is a terrible shooter, so he can't space the floor well for IT.  Good luck Magic Johnson.

Memphis sends James Ennis to Detroit for Bryce Johnson

Miami sends O5karo White to Atlanta for Luke Babbitt

Portland dumps Noah Vonleh to Chicgo for rights to Milocan Rakovic

Kings send Milachi Richardson to Toronto for Bruno Cabacolo

If we don't get Evans, and it sounds likely that is the case as we know Danny don't do Buckling, do we give Monroe the full exception in case he wows us and then we can resign him in offseason for a fair contract for him? If it is 5M, we are pretty much waiving him goodbye after this season. Or, was the exact amount agreed to already and this hypothetical is a moot point anyway.

Smart can’t shoot either, and the Celtics figured out how to make it work with both of them on offense.  I think the Lakers can do the same.  Ball can start the possession and try to make something happen in transition/early in the shot clock when he is best at making things haopen, and IT can take over the offense later in the shot clock when he needs to create for himself.  As far as starting PGs go, last year IT wasn’t terribly ball-dominant, and it certainly didn’t hurt his effectivess any.

Defense will always be the problem with IT, but on offense, I really do think Ball and IT could play to each other’s strengths.

League source indicates that the Celtics have elected to stand pat at trade deadline. They will be active in buyout market though.

Yep, Danny Dont Do Caving and we will look for deals on the buyout market.
