You are seriously insulting the big man skills of

Kevin Garnett - future big man Hall of Famer
Pau Gasol - future big man Hall of Famer
Tim Duncan - future big man Hall of Famer
Dirk Nowitzki - future big man Hall of Famer
Chris Bosh - future big man Hall of Famer.

Not discounting them.

I mentioned Garnett and Dirk already.

Bosh? Please.

Gasol was effective but really Kobe is the reason that team was a contender.

Duncan? They guy was on his last legs he was an above average big at that point.

Davis is great but he's not THAT good.

His Pelicans team is pretty talented and they still aren't a threat.
Without Gasol, Kobe does not win a title in 2010. Gasol was huge in the Finals, especially in game 7, especially in that 4th quarter. He was the best player on the court in that title deciding 4th quarter.

Duncan was great in the playoffs in 2014 being the team's 2nd leading scorer and leading rebounder and shot blocker. He had 15/10/2/1.5/0.5 in the Finals in 2014. He had to lead that team in hockey assists in that series. He was amazing not anywhere close to an average big that whole playoffs.

What's Dirk Nowitzki and Tyson Chandler in 2011?
How about Chris Bosh in 2012?
How about Chris Bosh with the greatest offensive rebound in NBA history in 2013?
How about Tim Duncan in 2014?

NBA started evolving after the Curry-led Warriors won their first title.
2016 was LeBron, Love, and Thompson.

Lebron and Durant are both primarily PFs at this point.

Winning takes great players, regardless of position.

I disagree with OP basketball is still a big man's game. Some think the Cs lost in 2010 because Danny traded Perkins and Shaq went down. Lakers won 2000 and 2010 with bigs like Bynum and Gasol. They also had Odom who had size and played big.

Basketball is still a big man's game.

You are thinking of 2011.

Still, Danny gave away Banner 18 to my mind when he traded Perk that season for Jeff Green. Whether O'Neal stayed healthy or not, we needed Perk.

(2010 was when Perkins hurt his knee in game 6 of the Finals and we didn't have him for that Gawd-forsaken Game 7)
