I think that’s been the theme of the season. The team plays entitled. They work hard to open the game and that’s why you see some nice leads to start the game. If the game turns into a blowout early, a combination of things seem to happen:
1. Players feel good about themselves and want to do highlight ISO’s
2. Alternatively, they want to do highlight 3 point barrages
3. The expectation that the other team will give up after being thoroughly thrashed

In the big picture things are going well.

Wrong, This roster as composed is not winning crap.   We have a lot of guys who want to be the man and don't play to win.   Ainge will take note how far a team can make it and decide accordingly.   He is not afraid to rebuild on the fly to get us to next step.    Remember the year when Horford and AL were are only carryovers?

You can kiss some players good bye, because DA  wants to win, and that does not mean building solely by draft picks.

This is basically it in a nutshell.

Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

This is it. Stevens should have a one on one meeting with each player and get their position and see if it's about team or self. Some guys may not want to say it in front of the team. Whatever he gets from those meetings, go with it. Then tell the team as a whole, whomever isn't playing hard, hustling, going hero will take a seat and do it. Stop with the promised minutes, scripted substitutions and special treatment. Semi should be upset that he doesn't get any minutes with all these primadonnas. He hustles and does all the little things that help winning. Highlight on film how Kyrie runs around with his hands down all the time, sprints on offense and jogs back on defense. Stevens is scared to call him out because he may leave. How Tatum is afraid of contact. How Morris rarely gets assists. In a film session point out all non hustling plays and point out hustling plays.

Good article from Washburn. "Heartless" is the right word:

It was ridiculous. The Celtics forgot all their defensive principles. They were scared. They knew they could be caught and, once the Clippers started making baskets, they tensed up and refused to respond to the challenge. And when the moment grew bigger, the Celtics tried hero ball. Such as Marcus Smart, who after missing his past six 3-pointers over two games, decided to launch a pull-up 3 with the Celtics down 2 with 2:06 left.

I guess I'm old school, but this merchandising has to stop.....when at home where the white jerseys with the green "celtics" on the front

I'd even like the old black sneakers
