NEW: A jury has convicted former NBA players Glen Davis and William Bynum after they were charged with engaging in a criminal scheme to defraud the NBA Players' Health and Benefit Welfare plan.

U.S. Attorney Damien Williams says the pair's fraud netted them over $5 million.

Curious to see where the sentences fall.  Presumably there will be jail time.

Unbelievable to be going to prison for fraud after a decent NBA career.
Guess we can assume that Davis did not take care of his money.
Any player these days, even making $1 million for one season should be set for life.

After agent’s fees and taxes you’re left with what? $550,000

At best you could make $25,000 per year in a mutual fund or bond off of that.

That’s far from being “set for life.”

If you can bank $3MM after fees and taxes then you’re looking at $150K per year which would be a nice middle-class lifestyle.

Big baby - an embarrassment to himself, his family, and all celtics fans, especially those of us who rooted hard for him.

Big Baby is a Big Dope.

Davis earned $33,175,999 in salary (alone) from his NBA career.

Set for life after making $1 million? No way. That's nothing these days. I've made over a million since Big Baby has been in the league, and I'm nowhere near set for life.

Davis is going to jail, especially with a prior conviction.

“On February 7, 2018, Davis was arrested for drug possession and drug distribution after police found 126 grams of marijuana and a briefcase containing $92,000 in cash inside his hotel room in Aberdeen, Maryland.”

Terrence Williams got ten years prison for ‘masterminding’ the scam.

I'm still surprised, but shouldn't be, that Keyon Dooling was involved in this.
