I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Pretty sure I'm the only person ever to root for both of these schools.

I think I am like a lot of Boston sports fans and really don't 'root' for any college teams. I mean, I went to UNH and it's great to see them do well in hockey, but I already feel like I know way too much about college sports (and NASCAR) due to ESPN's coverage. If I see any college game on, I pretty much always change it. On the flip side, I can't get enough of pro sports (even though I am ONLY a Boston fan).

Followed Ed Pinckney here from Philly after the '85 upset and have been a Nova fan ever since. The Palestra was also always rocking with St. Joe's, Penn and Temple. Always a fan of Delonte's as well. Allen Ray not so much.

I choose on a game by game basis, usually. No particular sustained allegiance.

Always liked Marquette, though, since the Wade Days. Loved Wesley Matthews. Western Kentucky - liked Courtney Lee soo much as a player there. VCU because of Eric Maynor. Kentucky b/c of John Wall. I guarded him in AAU, stripped him once. I want him to be an amazing player because then I'll have a great story.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

I've got my Master's and Ph.D. from THE Oklahoma State University, so I always side with them. Also, since I grew up on the left coast I tend to lean toward Pac-10 teams.

But I work here in the southeast, so it's difficult to deal with the SEC hoopla. It's downright scary when it comes to football.

For basketball I always side with the Big 12.

I should be punched in the face for this because of Magic but it's Michigan State. Shawn Respert was my boy when I was ballin' in high school.

I'm officially starting the campaign to draft Rautins as a replacement for E House this year.  Seriously, non-Cuse fans, check him out next chance you get.  He's no superstar but is as pro-ready as any role player-level prospect out there.
There are a lot of players that fit his mold who are solid in college but have no chance to make the pros. The thing that makes Rautins different than most of his fellow shooting specialists is that he is bringing it this season in all facets of the game. He's been huge on defense leading Cuse in steals, has brought the ball up in spots when needed, and is the emotional leader of the team. He also seems to have a knack for hitting the big shot; that fade-away three that he hit to put the Orange back in the lead against Florida was HUGE.

I love how he's been playing for Syracuse this year but I'm not really sold that he could make an impact in the NBA. Just think about how many guys there are out there that fit his description - guard, great shooter,  poor ball-handling, etc. Is the reason why Eddie can make it in the NBA and others can't just because he's quick enough to get open and has such a quick release? For a guy whose main game is his shooting, is Rautins actually a good enough shooter to make an NBA rotation? I love the guy, but these are valid questions when talking about him as an NBA prospect.

Eddie House - for THREEEEEEE!
