Thought I'd start a game thread.....

UConn doesn't look like they have the juice of Mich right now

I am totally rooting for UCONN, but I love the fact that Tom Izzo recruits local kids (9 of his team are from Michigan).  Given the economy of cities like Detroit and Flint, I really respect that he's reaching in and building his teams locally.  It's a positive sign in so many ways.

I like that too.

MSU has an unbelievable home court advantage, but I think UCONN is settling down.

MSU may be deeper, but UCONN looks much stronger.

Thabeet is gonna be a heckuva player in teh league. I mean he's not gonna redefine the center position or anything but he's a top 2 pick.

I agree.  He may not redefine, but he may very well dominate the position.  I haven't seen a college center that I have liked as much since Duncan (I am including Oden).

Is the league going to get rid of the defensive 3 seconds rule?

I really hope he's got the gift of blarney too..imagine that gigantic guy, with only the faintest grasp of the english language saying witty retorts. I cannot wait.

Reporter: What is it you'd say that you do out there, Hasheem?
Thabeet: I get the double doubles. I get the block shots. I am an amnial.

He moves better then you think, but he's not in that class, that's a little excessive. He's too soft right now, and is prone to fouling a lot even at the college level if you just attack him and not get afraid. He can be put in foul trouble too easily. He's better then a Roy Hibbert, but nowhere near a Duncan.
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

Actually strike that he seems pretty soft spoken, and his english is really pretty decent. Ah well....maybe next time.
