Golden State, Lakers.

Golden State, Lakers.

Really, the Lakers say no??
They get a PG they desperately need in Rondo and more depth at C with Biedrins for insurance if Bynum gets hurt again AND free themselves up from the Luke Walton contract.

Any Celtic fan would say "no" to trading with the Lakers.

Any Celtic fan would say "no" to trading with the Lakers.

If it worked salary cap-wise, would a Celtics fan say no to Jermaine O'Neal for Pau Gasol straight up as a matter of principle?

Let's not be harsh here. We can still screw them over. Bynum, Barnes, and Goudelock for KG?

Maybe JO, Wilcox, and Keyon for Bynum?

Golden State says no.  They wouldn't trade Curry for CP3, they wouldn't move him for Gasol.

I would say definitely no.

Unless Luke could convince his dad to come out of retirement and backup JO at Center with the assumption that Bill will take over the center spot all by himself due to JO's constant injuries.

The talent exchange isn't terribly uneven but you have to consider each team's situation.  I think all three teams say no.

Lakers - Biedrins is an awful fit.  A backup center at 9 million a year?  That is pretty expensive insurance.  They solve their immediate hole at point guard, open an immediate hole at power forward, and take on an awful contract in the process. Biedrins is useless to them.

Warriors - Curry is their core player.  Why would a below .500 rebuilding team trade a guy like Curry for Gasol?  By the time Golden State rebuilds, Gasol will be ready to retire.  Gasol is useles to them.

Celtics - I'm not a huge Rondo fan, but I think overall, with offense, defense, and playmaking taken into account, I'd rather build around him than Curry.

Not far off talent wise.  But all three teams decline.

Maybe. Depends how much his stock has dropped with all the concern about his ankles. I think most also agree that was a mistake on their part because they're undoubtedly better with CP3 and also other doors are opened with him on the squad.

For example maybe Howard says with CP3 on the Warriors I would be interested in going there and playing with him. David Lee and Ellis with maybe Udoh or Thompson should be enticing to Orlando. Throw in a pick too. Even Howard never came out and said he would extend with GSW I doubt him and CP3 don't extend together if they're already in the same team.

To me the Lakers as well as us would reject the trade.  The Lakers take on too much salary by adding Biedrins with his total lack of production (2 ppg and 4.6 rpg)for 3 more years at 9 million per.  They would be happy with getting Rondo as well as gettign rid of Walton (although not at the expense of taking on Biedrins).

We gain an oft-injured player who hasn't proven he can stay healthy and don't add what we really need IMO, which is a big guy that can rebound...  The Warriors to me would be happy with the trade.  They get a great player in Pau and also get from underneath a terrible contract....
