This kid looks like the real deal. If you want to sign a kid with upside on the reasonable contract level he is worth the risk. He has a great motor. Good length and ability. He has looked like the best player on the Sixers summer league team including Simmons IMO. Sweep in there and offer the kid a contract and we could have a solid bench energy guy for years to come.

We have too many players for roster spots already. I wouldn't read too much into Wood's performance in Summer League. I lot of non-NBA players have played lights out in the Summer League while lots of top drafts picks have performed poorly. It happens.

Yes,  but he was signed and later released, so he's a free agent for anyone to be had.

You mean like James Young in his last summer league game?

Wood wouldn't make this roster.

He barely played for the Sixers last year.

Please. Young hit a few open threes but can't do anything else on offense or defense. Wood made plays all over the floor in addition to his offense. The guy can play.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
He's an absolutely horrid defender, but he's still Young. I'd rather have Wood than James Young.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
