I Hope Kyrie doesn’t say “it’s him or me”.

But I wouldn’t blame him.

The problem is his contract.....we are stuck with him.

Maybe they should shut him down for awhile.

The only two significant changes to our ECF team are Irving and Hayward, and our culture has changed dramatically.

I wonder whose fault that is?

If it does arrive at a one or the other situation, it's Kyrie all the way.

I feel bad for Hayward as I was legitimately excited by his arrival. Right now, I fear for his NBA future because he looks a shell of a player. His confidence looks shot.

I have to agree on all counts.

Rooting hard for Hayward because if he can’t make it back, this franchise takes a big hit.

The dude just doesn't have it athletically right now. I advise anyone interested to just go back and watch highlights of Hayward in Utah, the difference in burst and hops is so clear its like watching a different player. Because he can't beat anybody anymore off the dribble we get a guy who has no aggression scoring and is more a  less a spot up shooter who isn't doing that very well. The hope is by the end of this year, or at least next year it comes back. It took George a full year of playing. If it doesn't we get this shell for 2 more at 30 per (because he will take that option).

Ah yes, that Hayward  :-\

https://youtu.be/LinS8LS8TVE

I think it's mostly in his head right now. Athletically he's not the same yet as he was in that video, but what that Hayward did that this one doesn't have is confidence. Confidence to attack the rim, confidence that he's the go-to guy, confidence that if he misses he can still be able to take his shots. Right now, other than a couple of exceptions, if he misses a few he stops shooting and lacks assertiveness, either because he doesn't want to get yelled at or he doesn't want the other guys to think he's taking "their" shot attempts. Contrast this to Kyrie or Jayson who will shoot the leather off the ball even when they're not shooting well, to try to get themselves out of a shooting slump. He ranks 6th in FGA out of the 7 players we have who play at least 20 mins a game on both a per game and a per 36 min basis (forget Dozier he's only played 4 games):

Just tonight he took 6 shot attempts in 25 min vs Wanamaker who took 11 in the same time period. Obviously Wanamaker was feeling it and maybe Hayward wasn't - if you go 1-6 from the field and 1-4 from 3 you're clearly having a ****house night. In shot attempts we had Tatum 19, Brown 18, Rozier 12, Wanamaker 11, Morris 11, then Hayward 6 and Horford 5. And of that 6 Hayward took 4 were from 3.

After the first month of the season I wrote him off for the whole year, I don't think we will see the best of him till next season, if at all. I'll be happy if we can get 12-5-5 from him over the balance of the year with the occasional big game. Next year I will be expecting much, much more from him. No more excuses next year. Getting over your mental demons is always harder than doing all the hard work physically especially with the type of injury he had. Some people get back to 100% physically but are never the same again because mentally they can't put their body in the positions it was in before their injury. Even more so when you're competing with so many other good players for minutes and shots and you're getting paid more than pretty much all of them. Let's hope Gordon isn't one of those because for better or worse we're stuck with him unless Danny can pull off some kind of heist or package him with a few other players.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Love him, but he didn't - at least not tonight.

I'm not expecting consistency from GH until at least end of Feb-early March.

Time to put the excuses away.

Time to have better focus and concentration and act like he gives a [dang].

Time to help lead the young players by word and deed.

Time to not be 2/5 from FT line like he was in Orlando.

Time to get away from a shameful 8/2/3 line like he had in Orlando.

It's all mental with him.

Smart gets in his face at practice in December and he goes for 30 the next night vs Wolves.

He has to play with abandon and has to elevate and take the contact like he did pre-injury. He's afraid. Time to get over it.

C'Mon Gordy, we are all rooting for you......NO ONE WANTS TO SEE YOU FAIL.....despite the way that is characterized sometimes by apologists.

We are stuck with him and his currently onerous contract, so we have no choice but to support him, but he could be hurting the team in more ways than paltry production. Resentment from the young'uns, Kyrie and Smart being p---ed at him, and who knows who else.

Tonite vs the Nets is a great place to start. He is better than ANY player on the Nets AND we have Smart and Irving both out: Time to step up, Gordy.

What are you talking about

You forget those two wins when Irving wa s out?

Hayward will have a good night... you watch

Yup.. His best game so far.

3 points in 25 min.
8 points against the Magic.
0 points against the Spurs.

Wish we were playing the Wolves for 82 games.

Freaking Davis and Harris outplayed the max player.

Top 5 highest salary in the entire NBA.
Playing like worst 50 player in the entire league.

Yup he will have eventually have a good game. But with Hayward, we will never know when that is.. Is it the Raptors game or the next then again maybe we'd have to wait... Forever.

His body language last night screams I don't want to play this game.
His confidence shattered and very low right now.

Maybe we should just play Dozier more.. Heck he is a cousin of Reggie Lewis, maybe he will play like his cousin.

Hayward isn't even making an effort to play better... Like if you don't have the athleticism or the first step then why not play the Post.. I'm sure he can and knows how to do that...

Hayward is done... We are stuck with that contract and Utah is sure glad it wasn't them who gave him that... Nearly 2 yrs already being paid 30 million per and all he has to show for it is a mere 8 ppg in less than 40 games of basketball

I was really happy when we signed Hayward I thought we instantly became contenders for the next 5 years. When he got hurt I was slightly dissapointed but watching Brown and Tatum last year I thought we had a chance to have 5 all stars this year and that injury would be a blessing is disguise.

Couldn't have been more wrong, I gave Hayward 20-30 games knew it would take a bit to get going again and be confident but where is the progress? I didn't think he would look this bad in the beginning but that was understandable, at this point I never expect Gordon to be anywhere near all star level again. If we could just hand his contract to someone else I would do it in a second, I feel bad saying that but what a drain on a great roster and future outlook of a team.
