That might fire up the Celtics next game. Getting chippy.

best thing that could have happened.  We need to play with more of an edge, especially against the heat.
Agree with this. Scal post game thought it was a blatant cheap shot and blamed Spoelstra.

He practically tackled Tatum.  Someone was saying he got pushed into Tatum, maybe a little push, but he was moving at Tatum the whole time.   It looked cheap to me.   So glad JT got right up after, and glad that JB gave the little shove to Martin, IE you just tackled him, stop trying to help him up now you jerk.  We need to increase our level of physicality.  We need to tell other teams that tackling our #1 guy isn't ok.
I didn't notice at the time but Scal said Spoelstra called a TO with 1:30 left and that play followed shortly thereafter. My concern is that once the adrenalin goes away, maybe Tatum feels that with this back. In the moment, you're fired up and he jumped back up as it to prove that it didn't hurt him.  He may be sore tonight.

Spoelstra in the huddle: "ok guys, the play is Wade Red #Zero"

I'm only half joking

I don’t think I missed Grant Williams once this season. But I did have a GW thought when JT went down. Right or wrong, GW would have acted like an enforcer if he was on the court - would have got in Martin’s space/face.  Would have postured. Not saying that’s necessary but it was missing.

JB had words for Martin and pushed him away from Tatum. He stood up for his teammate.

This actually gives me the biggest hope that things will be different this year.   Tatum getting right back up and was being chippy, and JB getting in Martin's face and pushing him back, and not backing down after Martin's BS.   We need to set the tone when these crap fouls happen.  Borderline cheap shot, maybe it was.
Don't give the heat any mental advantage, or any team for that matter.  The Heat think we are soft, time to change that narrative.

I thought I saw someone say it's a "week to week" thing, so doesn't sound like it'll be any time soon.

He is listed as week to week. So could go either way.

Funny enough, I thought of all the guys, Bam was the only Heat player who guarded Tatum really well 1 on 1. Bam's a great defender. But the Heat simply don't have the horses this season and can't afford for him to be on Tatum, otherwise KP and the others will feast anyways.

They really don't have an answer for our guards/wings especially with no Butler. Herro/Robinson/Rozier won't do it. Jacquez is a nice player and capable but still not quite there yet, and it's a tough task having him on JT his rookie year to begin with.

They're going down. And another TP for reaching Bill Russell level with 30k posts.

Jrue is making life miserable for Herro.

White, JB and Jrue really didn’t do much on offense. And they still won big.

Miami wants to slow the game down, muck it up. Win game two and I’m not sure Miami recovers. They just can’t score.

Just watched a bunch of replays on the Martin takedown.  I agree with Scal that it's absolutely a dirty play. He came in looking to make a hit. On one of the superstars in this league.

If we were the Lakers this would be the front-page story.

You can always rely on the Riley Miami Heat to be a dirty team

Been that way since Riley took over .  He is the RAT behind all the drama .

A small thing I observed, there were a few possessions where Porzingis just shot over Bam and hit some money mid-ranges. Bam didn't even play bad defense, it's just KP is slightly taller and capable of that. That's an element we haven't had in a long time and in recent Miami series.

Timelord didn't have any offensive game (just layups, dunks), and Horford isn't really capable of that either but he's also usually stretched out and tasked with other things. Same with G-Will. Now we have a big man who can shoot 3s, but also just shoot over Bam and that makes life even tougher on Miami. KP had 18 points on 7-13 shooting. Didn't have to do too much but could honestly probably average 25+ easily against MIA
