...he should not be an NBA commentator.

Focus: who would people like to see up there instead talking about the draft rather than Mark Jackson?

i'm at work, so I have no idea who else is on... but a college coach (current or just retired) is always good. Hubie Brown is the man. How about the ESPN scout types? Thorpe would be good.

Mark Jackson is very hit or miss with his game comments...

I am in the boat that says "you can do a lot worse than Mark Jackson".

I thought Rex Chapman was really awful.

I think Dan Majerle is the biggest homer ever....even worse than Tommy.

I would actually pay to listen to Tim Hardaway do in game commentary just for sheer laughs and giggles. Tim was so bad on ESPN NBA Fastbreak...I wish they didn't let him go.

Sean Elliot is the worst in the NBA. He shouldn't be calling 6th grade games let alone the NBA.

Tim Hardaway had the catchphrase on that show, "Shot be flowing".

i really like jackson.  i think he is better suited for covering games than the draft.  i like having an nba coach (van gundy) along with a college "expert" in jay B.  overall, i think jackson has been ok covering the draft, but he is best suited for nba game coverage. he knows his stuff.

I'd say Jackson's one of the better commentator's out there.

Greg Anthony, on the other hand ....  It always amazes me how someone who plays competitive basketball for so many years can appear to know so little about the game.

Mama, there goes that man!

Mark Jackson as previously stated is definitely very hit or miss.  He most of the time uses his same old catch phrases, but in a way I've kind of grown to like/expect it - more so expect it.  Sometimes he does like to just run his mouth, but at some points during the night he does showcase his experience and provide us with some sort of worthwhile insight.

Robot Breen to his far left on the other hand...
Who said the East was the JV conference? See you next year, Mr. Bryant!

I can't stand him.

He just says a lot of idiotic stuff.

Jackson's okay as a game commentator. When he isn't spouting one of his seemingly infinite cliches he's actually capable of making a solid point.

He's pretty much useless in covering the draft, though. He doesn't seem to have enough knowledge about all the teams across the league, and has even less insight when talking about the majority of the players drafted.

I will say that Jackson's definitely a step up from Stephen A. Then again, having a dog bark on TV would be a step up from Stephen A.

You notice how Magic and Isiah never were at the same broadcast table together?  Those two are awful. And together they'd probably be giggling the whole time to boot.

And Ray Allen creates his own "Air Space" to sink the 15 foot jumper.

i will say this about mark jackson - ive heard him call many nets games. i swear the man sounds like a video-game commentator. you know what he is going to say before he says it and he speaks in this ridiculous rhythm as though he needs to figure out which line to plug in. he has an amazing talent to state the obvious and he had no real biz being on the air with breen and jvg. i would go as far as to say that both of them carried him and made him look better than what he actually provides.
