I would love to see us snap that up and get another young player. We need to have some cheap talent to fill out the roster and I think Ainge as the ability to get somebody good at 20.

Agreed, provided all it takes is cash, and a 2nd rounder if needed.

I think cash alone would get you a pick in 20's in this years draft.

True, but the Celtics might have to outbid someone else, since everyone can offer the same max for a pick ($3 mil).

Unfortunately the Celtics have already said they are not looking to pick up extra picks since they consider this a weak draft.

that would be $3 million. Write the check and i'll hand it to Danny Ainge.

Is it really worth the money?  I know it is to us; however, I wouldn't blame Wyc for not wanting to pay 3 million dollars to draft a player at #20 in a weak draft when he could sign a free agent for the minimum who may turn out to be better.

If this guy is still available, I'd do it. http://www.nbadraft.net/players/chris-singleton

Elite defender, the LeBron/Wade killer for as long as they are around.

Why not. But Danny should wait till the 20th pick is up. Look at who else is available before offering the cash and maybe the second rounder. If someone else bids for it first before Danny does, no biggie.

Danny should totally get it. Then he should draft a totally worthless player that averages single digits in a whole year of college ball and then declare that the player in question would be a top 5 pick the next year. This could become a total go to move for him.

Word was Minny was looking for a veteran presence. Not sure what they would get for the 20th pick; but they may simply be testing their options. Could certainly get more for their #2 pick.
