I am feeling much worse about my 18-1.

At least I can say I get about 1 TP per day.

I bet you'd get more if you changed the sig.... Tasting Shaq's Posterior, so easy Kobe can do it

Think about how many times over the last couple years he got TPs because of his thread.

My TP to post ratio sucks compared to most members here. Oh well I believe in the quality of my work.  ;D

hey, your level of TPsuck-ocity can only dream to some day matching mine. and i dont even pretend to have high quality....

gee, which may actually be the explanation for my horrible ratio.  ;D

instead, i take satisfaction in knowing that thanks to my ridiculously poor ratio virtually everyone else here can feel good by comparison.

its a tough job, but someone has to do it.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Nope, no statistics on it.  My guess is that FLCeltsFan leads by a fairly large margin for anybody over 500 posts.

The highest TP ratio I can think of is Braden's 21 TPs for 18 posts ratio, aided in large part by his two fabulous videos (here and here).  I'm sure, though, that there's somebody out there with one post who has a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio.

Hey now! Thanks for thinking of me, Roy! Aw crap, i just ruined my ratio! (hold on, gotta dust off the calculator... crap, that's a lot of digits. carry the 1, divide by X... there's a reason why i'm in radio.) Let's see. 25 TPs, 19 posts (after this one.) So... I'm averaging a little better than 1.3 TPs per post now, but i haven't even posted 20 times yet. The 20th will probably be another C's video too. (I'm working on it already!) I'll take suggestions too if anybody has some.
Oh, and TP for you Hobbs, for giving me the props. Glad you dug the videos.
If Danny needs to fill a roster spot, I'm available.

so here's a  weird phenomenon I've noticed

People's star to post ratio seems to be 1:1000

so if someone has 1000 posts, they have 1 star

once they get 2000 posts its 2, and so on and so forth

very odd, someone call the mythbusters

My observations are that the people who get lots of TPs are those who drink the Kool-Aid (beyond the moderators, who are worthy of the TPs because of their intelligence and insight). Should the TPs be a reward for living in dreamworld? Heck, no.

And, no, I'm not bitter because of my low TP count. I accept that my negativity towards fandom and its irrationality will never be popular on this blog.

Folks, the way this place is about Tommy Points points is enough to make the Devil blush. Sure, we have people who get them because they are truly deserving of community recognition and reward. More often though we have buyers and sellers, brokers and day-traders, internet forums equivalents of male street-walkers who'll do anything for a Tommy Point (don't let the kids read this).

We have little punk gangs who bump each other up with TPs, professional beggars who use TPs to try to position themselves on CB or who in other instances beg because literally their personal self-esteem is inseparable from their Tommy Point counts, and nutjobs who set up multiple member accounts that they use to boost their own Tommy Point standings (among other things). We also have practically any combination one might imagine of the aforementioned realities taking place in some individuals all at the same time.

So, I'm sorry but anyone here trying to glean something meaningful and insightful from the Tommy Point phenomenon here on CB couldn't embrace anything that would hold less frustration and futility or produce less fruit. You would be advised to pursue something less challenging and potentially more rewarding such as determining the potential of NBA candidates by the color of their droppings.

All you need to know is...
  • The Bad News: nobody around here has gotten rich of Tommy Points yet.
  • The Good News: nobody around here has died from Tommy Points yet as far as we know.

Beyond that, have fun with TPs if you can. If you can't, ignore them. They are just one of those passing, temporary things one encounters on occasion and due to the dilution of the original ideal behind, quite meaningless.
