Just thought it was interesting to see how there are pretty different people here in their beliefs of where our team is headed. Which one are you? ;D I'd say I'm an irrational believer.

Just a reminder to everybody:  it's okay to label yourself, but don't label others.  (And in your labeling of yourself, don't suggest that your view is the only one with validity or that is "realistic".  :P )

I'm either a rational believer or a believer in miracles.  Honestly, I'm not sure what the distinction is, especially as related to our current team.

But my view IS the only view that is valid.  Are you telling me I'm supposed to call a spade a club?  ;D

Not sure what to answer. I think I am a rational believer of this team but given the way the year went down with early season struggles turning into a later season injury list the length of a basketball court, I would have to say that this year's championship hopes are a bit foolhardy and unrealistic.

Is that possible? I mean, with just a few tweaks and some health, I think we could contend next year.

If you are realistic enough to understand that your fandom can be seen as irrational, are you really irrational?

At this point in this season one could be both a believer in a long-shot miracle--and be happy to see them 'develop their bench' such that they simultaneously fall to a first-round Miami confrontation AND get a better position in the draft.

TP...That's Catch 22, isn't it.

I suppose one could be rational in real life (thus understanding one's own irrationality, if any), yet irrational in one's belief that the Celtics will win it all...?

I'm a rational non-believer, but I pretend to be an irrational non-believer in an effort to reverse-jinx.

Is this the kind of thread I can expect to see more of during our next 20+ years of lotto irrelevance?
