Why do people want to see Ewing get the job?

I think Vaughn is a good hire.  Howard is gone anyway, so why placate him?  He played in the NBA for a decade because he was smart and understood the game, as his physical talents, while good, were nothing special.

I just hope that seeing a college teammate become an NBA head coach doesn't make Pierce feel old.

In 1999, the Magic took a shot on an ex-player who was a heady but journeyman PG and that guy ended up being coach of the year.

Teams throughout the league are hiring people with Spurs background.  OKC scored with Presti.  The Magic are trying to do the same with the Vaughn hire.

Sounds to me like a lot of people forget the lack of respect Doc received when he got his first gig like stated above. And Patrick Ewing has the charisma of a moth, I pray that he never becomes a head coach.
