OKC Thunder looked a lot like our C's:

  • 4th quarter collapse
  • blowing double digit lead
  • too many turnovers
  • poor offense during crunch time
  • stars failing in the clutch
  • fouling and sending opponents to the line

  • lack of mental toughness

The only thing the Thunder were missing were a boat load of injuries.

I doubt that any of those traits are uncommon for teams that lose games.

I know we collapsed a lot in fourth quarters but not many times did we have an epic collapse of 15 points in under 4 minutes. That was crazy. I nodded off when the Thunder went up 15, opened my eyes with 6 seconds left to see Dirk hit a tying free throw. I couldnt believe it, what an epic epic collapse bu the T men.

And a great comeback by the Mavericks.

It's Jeff Green's Fault.... ;)
A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.

Push yourself again and again. Don't give an inch until the final buzzer sounds.

Very true; reality is they are playing a much better/deeper team.

It's hard to beat experience with youth.

Pretty easy to rule the paint when you can't physically move from it.

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

You guys are so right.  It's much better to have a center who is soft defensively than a guy who works hard to anchor your defense.

That's pretty funny coming from a guy with a name like yours, considering that Shaq can barely move at all anymore, especially on defense.

And Dirk routinely getting every call down the stretch helps.  And what's funny to watch is the way he cries his eyes out whenever he DOESN'T get a call, as rare as that is.

Durant seems to be soft in the clutch and Westbrook has no idea how to run an offense.  But they are a very young team and came a long way this year.   A lot of teams have come apart in the clutch against the Mavs, including Boston.

What sucked a lot was watching Collison, who was playing inspired basketball, make a brilliant steal against Dirk at the very end of the game, only to get a foul called on him!   That was blazingly unfair and outrageous.   Sure, stars are going to get more than their share of questionable calls, and that's reasonable to a degree, but how can a team beat the Mavs when all they have to do in crunch time is toss the ball to Nowitski for a guaranteed score or trip to the line?

westbrooks game when put under a playoff microscope doesn't make me think that highly of him anymore
sure he's a very good guard but his pg skills, leadership and decision making aren't at the rose, williams, rondo, paul or parker level

tp for the jeff greens fault comment, of course the guys who constantly knock him wouldn't get the sarcasm  :)
