The best thing LeBron could do is to find a way to pair himself with a superstar big man, preferably a center.

Bron and a stud at C would be epic.

Why?

The entire game that's won two titles with him is based on motion, spacing, and shooting.

He's versatile enough to make it work, but a stud C doesn't fit the model that's worked for 3 Finals trips and 2 titles.

Obviously you need a 3pt shooter to complement such a pairing.  LeBron can score a lot of points by himself.  He's also the defacto PG.  LeBron driving the lane and being capable of laying off quality passes to a highly competent big, with a deadly outside shooter waiting in the wings would be a devastating offense.

Miami is susceptible to tough interior teams.  Having a stout defender/rebounder to protect the rim with LeBron roaming the passing lanes would be as successful as any scheme Miami plays.

I can think of at least a few centers, and PF's too, that would be better than Bosh.  He's no scrub, in fact he's pretty [dang] good.  He's not an interior defender or elite rebounder though.

LeBron can make almost any pairing work, but what does the Stud C do for his offense? Rim protectors are great, you don't need a "stud C" to get one. Chris Anderson has worked well enough.

I think moving LeBron further from the rim is a bad move offensively.

Well, his jumpshot is certainly improved from years past.  I don't believe that playing next to an interior scorer takes too much space from LeBron.  He's too strong for that (and he gets fouls at a high rate).  He's also such a good passer, it would create numerous easy inside baskets.

You can crowd the paint but if the two players on the inside are both good around the rim, and can elevate, it works beautifully.  It's no different than having a solid scoring center and PF.

Build your offense around LeBron, not a hypothetical post player.

The small ball lineup with him at the 4 is killer and he's been on the best team in the league with a C who can space the floor.

He needs a stud big man to space the floor, (Bosh, Ibaka, Love, etc) other than that just get talent.

I certainly understand the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" angle.  It's obviously working.

I just believe he'd be better with a stud defender/scorer/rebounder at C.  Keep the outside shooting too (other positions) with "3 and D" types.
