It would be hilarious if he ended up coming back after everything that has happened. The amount of people on this site that would have to eat crow...

I'd gather that his detractors would run for the nearest cliff.

Hopefully with no parachutes.

Kyrie has said he would come back if Celts would have him and then he said wait until July 1st.  Other than what has Kyrie said? The rest is other people speculating.

If Kyrie Irving came back and committed to this team how would you feel?

Honestly, I would not be shocked. Nothing surprises me with that dude anymore. But pretty sure he’s a goner.

Who do the lakers have that the celtics would want in a sign and trade?
Anthony Davis comes to mind. ;)

Danny's plan worked!

Are you kidding me??

Why the hell was this not planned like 2 weeks ago. You know, when there was a chance to trade for AD...  ???

Probably because the meeting is just a formality.  The Celts will say hey, we're willing to have you back at the full max or whatever.

Irving will say, No thanks I'm going to take meetings with other teams and probably sign elsewhere.

There probably won't be a report that comes out following the meeting saying he's definitely gone, but I think that will be the gist of the conversation.  Kyrie may have considered returning if the Celts made moves to upgrade the roster / exchange youth for vets, but based on everything we've heard I don't think there's any reason to think he'll be interested in coming back.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

There was a time when Irving looked a lock to re-sign but you always had to add that caveat of “but he’s Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ing crazy so can’t rule anything out” roles are switched now.

Can’t rule a return out cus the dude is off his rocker but it would surprise me more than anything else he’s done.

I suppose if he comes back you could dump Morris and Rozier hope for a Hayward resurgence and run it back but I feel like the bridge is burned. With AD off the table I just don’t see how an Irving return works.

You’d probably have to go hard after Beal, moving Brown, Smart and picks?

Agreed. The meeting is a formality. Just the proper way of doing business.
