I think Don Chaney was a fairly mediocre player; I just don't understand the support he's getting over some other guys.

I guess everything is relative...he was a 5 time all-defensive 2nd team. For sure not a star, but I remember him as a shut-down defender.  Personally I like:

Chaney
Howell
Allen

I'd like to put Toine; however, if KG is on this list already, Ray should be too.  He's a superstar who has won a title in green: that's more than what Ed Macauley and Reggie Lewis can claim.

And for those Bailey Howell fans out there, guess what, Bailey only played 4 years in Boston, which by the end of this season will be one more than Ray.  Like Ray he was a latecomer to Green.

I'll go

Ray
Bailey
Toine

I am shocked I am the only one who voted for Walton.

I thought about Walton, but he only appeared in 90 games as a Celtic, and only made two starts.  In his one healthy year, he averaged 7.6 points and 6.8 rebounds.

He was a key contributor on one championship team, but he wasn't more of a contributor than Ray Allen or Bailey Howell.

He also won 6th man of the year.  He is not even getting a single nomination on the entire list.

Meanwhile, KG is #14.

KG was the defensive player of the year, which to me, one ups the 6th man of the year.  Furthermore, KG has already played in more games than Walton.  Finally, KG was the best player on a title team, Walton was the 5th or 6th best player on the '86 team.

I think First Team All NBA and third in MVP voting factors in as well.

If we must vote for three, then discard my Howell bullet and make it

Howell
Chaney (definitely not mediocre)
Walton
