Wow. Who were the latest sports guys to do something like this and miss time? Amare and Drew Storen come to mind. At least he hit an inanimate object.

  • GOT IT!!!
Smart should be available for cheap. He is needed on this team regardless of some of the dumb stuff he does. Ainge isn't going to just let him walk away if he can get him back true to his value.

I remember the story of a former Red Sox pitcher that claimed he severely cut his hand by falling out of bed while asleep onto a glass. Had to look his name up...Paxton Crawford.

In another thread I reference that...

smarts poor shooting % is what will keep his price tag down this summer. his value is really only to a winning team that has scorers elsewhere in the lineup so that his poor shooting doesn't hurt them....and most of those teams don't have the big $$ to pay him.

if smart was the focal point on a poor team, they would get blown out with him shooting 20 times a night at 30%

Its now a golf cart .

Making it easier money wise to sign him , if Danny is still interested.

I sitill want him on the team

This may put  him in DA s dog house for a while .

This is disappointing but doesn't change my calculation on Smart. He's a very emotional person. One side of that is he gives up his body every night doing everything he possibly can to get wins for his team and that results in clutch charges, rebounds, and making sure this is a team that never says die. The other side of that is this crap.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
He's apparently going to be out for 2 weeks, with maybe a week of minute restriction... Ugh... This does kind of baffle me. Love Smart, but really? At least he did it before Allstar break, so we have plenty of time to rest and recover our players.

I wonder if some sort of suspension will also be given from the Cs and/or league?

Why do you say that? It happened at a hotel nowhere near NBA premises, no one besides Smart got hurt, and other than Smart coming out about the injury despite the obvious apparent damage to the hands, no one else would've really known about it.

If Ainge or Stevens suspends Smart, I'll be sorely disappointed.

If he is on video smoking weed is one reason. The other reason from the Cs is doing something stupid which hurts the team. I am a HUGE Smart fan so I obviously do not want this but if you are on a social media site smoking weed I think that could be grounds.
