David Aldridge: Pacers asking teams for ideas on potential PG trades, per sources, as they have for a while. Ideally: 2 firsts+starter. Teams obv skittish. Process will likely accelerate going into Draft, but no certainty anything will get done by then. 11 hours ago – via Twitter daldridgetnt

Wonder if IT would be willing to take a Durant type deal to be able to compete for a title?

has there been any indication whatsoever that George is willing to sign an extension if traded? Seeing reports that Indy reached out to Cleveland regarding a PG13 trade.

Lol well they can ask....

He freaking retweeted Paul Pierce saying for the C's to trade the pick for him

We would have his Bird rights

This would be the most loaded team he could join.

That is his own actions saying he wants to come to the c's, not someone talking for him.

Why would we do that for a 1-year rental?  Pass, pass, pass!

well 2 1st's and a starter is pretty darn vauge. I mean is that 2 1st's this year or any 2 1st's.  Do they want at least 1 lottery pick, or are picks in the 20's good?   Starter is also vague, I mean Jae Crowder is a starter, is that the level of starter they want, or do they want something more?  Would a recent draft pick, like Brown, qualify as a 1st?  Just as an example, the Nets could trade 22 and 28 along with pretty much any of their starters, and fit that requirement, but somehow I think that isn't good enough for the Pacers.

This is pretty much a non-story without a lot more clarity.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Bradley, Zeller, two firsts (Non Brook, LAK, or #3) for George.

Draft Jackson

Sign Hayward

Move Crowder, Rozier, Demetirus, Mickey a Brook first and future first for Butler.

Re sign Jerebko and Green

IT/Smart
Butler/Brown/Green
Hayward/Jackson
George/Yabu/Jerebko
Horford/Zizic

If we trade for him, Ainge probably has to allot him a max slot. So he would also cost us Hayward or Griffin. Can't head towards four near max contracts at end of year. We would have to pursue a second tier PF like James Johnson instead. Don't think I'd do this if we were fairly sure we could get Hayward or Griffin.

But if those two look like long shots, its hard to see Paul George walking away from a team that would probably win 60 games AND has a treasure trove of assets to go to the Lakers. I don't want to see him going to Cleveland.

George has stated he can be convinced to sign long term with a contender if he is traded to one. I would be willing to take the gamble, and I think Ainge is too.

i like it ... but i think the offer for PG would need at least one of the Brook, LAK, or #3 pick

Wonder if IT would be willing to take a Durant type deal to be able to compete for a title?

For perspective, Durant would make more next year, in his "discount season," than IT will have made for his entire seven-year career when he reaches free agency.

Could you please show the source of that quote. I have never seen it.
