I haven't seen this yet (my good friend is coming back from overseas duty, and i will see it with him next week), so I'd appreciate if you could leave out the spoilers (for others who haven't seen this yet, as well.

I've heard that, first of all, this movie is tremendous. I've also read some comparisons to the Matrix. I know that Matrix's strong points are it's originality and it's philosophy. Supposedly, Inception's are about self-discovery, the dream world, etc.

Any opinions?

Well since we're not doing spoilers....

I thought the revelation where um...."Orpheus-may" freed um.."eo-nay", and Eo-nay had to fail before he could realize his own potential, and that his own existence laid outside of society was a very powerful message in the film.

And I haven't seen Inception. Starring Eonardo-lay Icaprio-day.

I go with Inception anyday. Like the actors, script, plot, idea and cinematography all better than the matrix.

Matrix: better concept (Descartes philosophy), better special effects relative to when it came out (it was groundbreaking where the special effects for inception weren't for the time).

Inception: much better acting, better plot, better ending.

It on the fence right now. I really liked Inception but the Matrix is one of my favorite movies ever.

Inception handled the philosophical ideas of individuality and self-determination with far more thoughtfulness than the Matrix.

Pretty similar movies... but you have to see Inception by A LOT here. The storyline edge has to go to Inception, and the effects, production and score all go to Inception by a good margin.

The music in Inception makes the movie. After you have watched it, there is a pretty nice breakdown on Youtube of how the music fully explains the 'answer' to the movie...

i liked both films....but my vote goes to the matrix hands down.  there is a reason that inception has been labeled as having a "matrix feel" to it....bc the matrix was an innovator.  not to mention the fighting sequences and special effects at the time were amazing. my matrix vote is only validated with the first matrix film tho.

inception is still a great film.  i saw it in imax, which was pretty sweet.

I mean...the movies have the same tone...

But in no way are the movies really that similar in story or even effects.

Inception was unreal, and I was also greatly entertained by The Matrix

I'm a fan of both films, but Inception has to retain the same watchability level that the Matrix did. One of those things where you have to give it time.
