I think Greece should be a tough out for anyone. Lots n lots of talent, lots n lots of experience.

I wish i could agree. I can`t see much talent other than Giannis and Papanikolaou (but there are interesting prospects waiting their turn)
And the main issue is that this roster simply cannot score.  Almost the same team PLUS Spanoulis stuggled to score.

Just saw this excellent preview from Canis Hoopus linked on the front page of Celtics Blog.

I remember reading somewhere that Drew Gooden was going to be playing for Finland but doesn't look like that's happening now.

We we're so close. Just fell short in the overtime.

Dray actually was a good pickup for us. But yeah, everyone thought they will run through the Philippines due to lack of size, but the heart counts.

Still, a loss though. Sucks, but GREAT EFFORT.

Indeed. I don't know what we can do without him on the floor. I guess the naturalization is paying off, basketball wise.

He also looks like he's embracing the team, so good for us.

Think we can snag a game from Senegal? I came into the World Cup not expecting anything but a respectable game, so a game where we actually had a change is very much welcome. Too bad Fonacier had to withdraw due to injuries, we need another 3 pt threat aside from Chan.

Blatche was awesome, just had some bad rotations and a few wrong plays but just have to take the good with the bad I guess.

But who from that lineup can be a 3PT guy? Gary David? Doubt it...

yeah, thats why I was unhappy with Fonacier withdrawing. He and Chan are the only real shooters in the team. A few can shoot but are streaky.

The Philippine team sure gave Croatia fits throughout the game.

They had a chance to win it in the fourth: tied at 71, less than 15 seconds remaining, Croatia at the limit, the team has possession.

They could have tried to drive and draw a foul, but no. They had to take a three...a three.

I swear, I have not cursed that much since Wade broke Rajon's arm...

Sadly its their mentality. Waning moments gonna be hero 3 ball.

Yep.

We all know better. Give the ball to Jimmy if we're taking a game winning 3.  ;D

But again, unsung hero despite the loss, Jean Marc Pingris. I swear if he's 6'9" he'll be in the NBA. He's gor the most heart of the team, and the way he battles down low despite being 3-4 inchea shorter than the opponent bigs. He's one reason why i can believe.

Wow, the Kiwis only fell by 3 points to Turkey.

Australia struggling against Slovenia at half time :(

Nice game by the Kiwis as well. A lot of surprising teams in this tournament.
