This just in from KLAC in LA:

Baron Davis's press conference for tomorrow has been called off.

Take that for what its worth.

Figured I'd split this off and get some discussion on it.

This has been one wierd free-agent season, and we really haven't "officially" started.

Got to love it. As I suspected Brand would not leave him hanging. Must have had a condition in his verbal related to Brand signing in LA.

The folks at KLAC have been playing tag with Baron's people, trying to book an interview with Baron for after tomorrow's presser. They've also been trying to track down the presser's time.

Then about an hour ago, Baron's agent said the status for the presser is post poned to a yet to be named date and time.

Also there may be a Maggette counter offer from the Clippers at $55/5. Although that sounds like the agent trying to play the suddenly desperate sides. There is alot of desperate energy going on in GS and LAC.

And then they are baffled by the surprise Brand to Philly move. The offer from the Clippers was believed to be around 80/5. About the ame as the Philly offer.

If not the clips then where could Baron conceivably go?  Not back to GS.

What is the Warriors cap situation? How much money is tied up over there.

They would still hold Baron's bird rights correct? incorrect?

Can they sign Maggette and Baron?

Could they have signed Baron and Josh Smith?

would he sign for the full MLE for one year and try for big money next year. Maybe sign with SA or Cleveland?

He knows, with his injury history, that he needs to sign a giant contract this year.  It's the last big contract for him.  The clips are the only team that will offer it to him.  I bet he is upset at the Brand situation but I think he is more posturing for them to add more talent such as....Josh Smith.  When it's all said and done Baron will take the money and run.  Close to home, giant contract...that beats being a champion in most people's eyes.
