Preseason Game #2
TV:  YES, CSNNE, NBA-TV
Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey

Roster
Ray Allen
Avery Bradley **
Marquis Daniels
Glen Davis
Semih Erden
Kevin Garnett
Luke Harangody
Stephane Lasme
Jermaine O'Neal
Shaquille O'Neal
Kendrick Perkins **
Paul Pierce
Nate Robinson
Rajon Rondo
Von Wafer
Delonte West
Mario West
** Injured

Players to Watch
Rajon Rondo has stated that this season he wants to remove all doubt that he is the best PG in the league.

Shaq and Erden were both impressive in last night's win and they get a bigger challenge in this one as they face one of the best young centers in the league.

Paul Pierce was questioning who was going to guard him in practice and it appears the answer to that question is Marquis Daniels.  Quisy needs to prove that he is up for the task of being Pierce's back up.

Roster
Jordan Farmar
Derrick Favors
Eddie Gill
Stephen Graham
Devin Harris  **
Kris Humphries
Damion James
Brook Lopez
Anthony Morrow
Troy Murphy  **
Travis Outlaw
Johan Petro
Quinton Ross
Joe Smith  **
Ben Uzoh
Terrence Williams
Brian Zoubek **

Players to watch
In his 3rd season, Brook Lopez is one of the best young centers in the league and will be a good early test for the Celtics new front line

Derrick Favors was the #3 pick in the draft and at 6'10" with a 7'4" wingspan, they are expecting a lot from him but can he guard Kevin Garnett?  With Murphy out this preseason, Favors will get more minutes to prove himself.

There may be a battle over the PG position between Jordan Farmar and Devin Harris.  Both have similar stats and this will be a good test against the Celtics PG's. With Harris injured, Farmar will have plenty of time to try to win the job.

Game Notes
NBA.com shows this game as being televised on NBA-TV but as with anything else in the pre-season, who knows.   The Nets are looking to bounce back after an embarrassing 2009-10 season.  They have a new coach and some new faces and will be looking to make a big improvement over last season. They are 2-0 so far, but they haven't had any strong competition so far.   Expect both teams to experiment with lineups as they look for chemistry and to set their rosters.

Thanks FL for another great game thread.  So far you are a lucky charm this year since the celtics are 1-0 in games where you create a thread.   ;)

Go celtics...gosh it feels good to have the team playing again.

Oh ya...tp for FL for the thread.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Hey FL...will you continue doing celticsgreen.blogspot.com/?
I had to leave Celtics Green because I wasn't able to do any of the technical stuff on the blog myself and Loy, who owns it, kind of disappeared.  The graphics messed up and we had big boxes all over the page saying the bandwidth was exceeded and I couldn't fix it.  It took a week to get in touch with Loy and get it fixed and so I made a very difficult decision to leave there and now I am writing for Celtics Life. http://www.celticslife.com/

Two games in a row!  I don't know if I can handle that.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

TP FL!

Doc probably won't play the starters a lot on a back to back, especially in preseason. Hope I can watch the game this time, anyway.

TP Florida.

Also, FYI people with Direct TV, I live in Memphis and was able to watch the game last night on CSNE (in the 600s). The channel looked like it was blocked when I was scrolling through the guide, but when I clicked on it the game did come on. The channel shut off after the game was over. I think tonight's game is on NBA TV so it won't matter, but keep that in mind for the next pre-season game not being shown on the league pass channels or NBA TV.

“Being a Celtic is, every decision you make is about the team. Every cut you make is about the team. Every pass you make is about the team. You take yourself out of it. It’s not for everyone. If you don’t want to win, don’t want to play team basketball, and it’s more about you then you’re probably not a Celtic." Doc 2010

I hate NBA TV games on the road.  I'm stuck with the Nets broadcast.  CSNNE is blacked out.
