Are any of them Marcus Smart? Because I choose that one. I choose him forever.

I’ll take Player C.

Better shooter. Better rebounder. Better defender. And handles the ball better.

Thanks for playing.

I think we are all hoping Hayward can better play up to his contract. He is at least showing some decent signs.

Crowder (Player A) doesn't have the same potential as Hayward, but showed he can flourish in Stevens' system. Obviously at $7.3M/yr, you have a lot more to work with...but let's not worry about that now.

I assume Player B is Evan Turner. A lot of fun while he was here, but we were never going to pay him that much money (and we shouldn't have).

No, this is a "Gordon Hayward is bad and will never get back to normal/anything approaching normal again" thread. A "Marcus Smart is bad at shooting and therefore worthless" thread would have lower salaries
I'm bitter.

I was editing my response as you finished yours. Just wanted to make sure you got 'credit' for naming Turner first even though my post came before yours  :)

Gee, how did you figure that out?  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

This is a great illustration of why looking at stats alone does not give you the whole picture, especially limited stats from part of a season.

I thought we overpaid for Hayward at the time of the signing but you have to overpay to get the top players.  I am not the least bit surprised that Hayward has started slow.  He is recovering from a gruesome injury and trying to compete in the NBA against the best athletes in the world.

Seeing how well Paul George is doing is very encouraging to me.  George has continued to improve since his injury for more than 2 seasons.

I played without looking up which player those stats belong to or even think about it. I chose Crowder > Hayward > Turner as it turned out. But obviously (and in particular in Hayward's case where he's getting back to form) this isn't a complete picture at all.

It is interesting in a vacuüm to discuss whether Hayward is 4x better than Crowder. But not right now and not in this situation.

We compare a player recovering from a serious injury to two fit players. not fair imho

GH last Utah season stat line :

3p%  2p%  eFG% TRB  AST STL To   Pts
.398  .506  .536    5.4   3.5   1   1.9  21.9

Player A: for 7.3 million per year for 2 years
3p%  2p%  eFG% TRB  AST STL To Pts
.318  .536  .500    4,7   1,8  0.7  1  12.1

Player B: for 17.9 million per year for 2 years
3p%  2p%  eFG% TRB  AST STL To Pts
.143  .515  .472    5,0   4.2  0.7  2  8,1

Who would rather you have ????
