LeBron Advised Paul To Request Trade

LeBron James continues to put his fingerprints on the NBA's most-hyped offseason in history.

Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer wrote on his Twitter page Saturday that James suggested that Hornets point guard Chris Paul request a trade.

However, Windhorst added that James is urging Paul to stay in the Western Conference to make for a better rivalry.

There have been conflicting reports as to whether Paul is being represented by LeBron's business and marketing firm.

This was mentioned during Adrian Wojnarowski's article so it's not really new news, but seriously I thought Chris Paul was smart.  You have to be an idiot to take advice from LeBron!  Chris Paul stay true to yourself and who you really are and don't let this guy brainwash you.  I have so much more respect for D-Will now than Paul it's not even funny.

Trying to get out of your contract with trade demands is low, even Lebron didn't go that far.

Pierce did, but I don't believe Pierce ever was going to leave and was just doing it to put pressure on Danny to get something done.

Chris Paul is making the right decision by asking to leave.

The Hornets are a train wreck with no idea of how to fix it.

He's not asking to leave he's demanding to leave there is a difference.

Paul has no leverage and right now should just be worrying about making the team that he is playing on right now better and not trying to get traded.  He got injured last season so he should be trying to have a bounce back year and to get his club to have a bounce back year.

Haha, LeBron is scared of Paul.

Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa

I don't completely blame Paul for demanding a trade the management for the Hornets does suck.  Also I didn't mean Paul in general when I was saying that.

Why? because Lebron wants to look like less of a slimeball and coward by saying "see? everybody else is doing it."

He really sucks. And it turns out Chris Paul kind of sucks, too.

Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Good lord. Are we seriously going to think that Chris Paul has enough of a supporting cast to win a championship in New Orleans? Or that they have any sort of future? Stability in ownership? Come on.

LeBron is a coward for Chris Paul demanding a trade. That makes sense.

Secondly, Chris Paul is one in a long line of superstars who have, at some point, threatened or demanded a trade. Kobe Bryant is among them. Pierce would've been on the list pre-Big Three.

If players are truly so passionate about winning, they should not have signed enormous max deals to begin with.  If these players are so desperate to win, they shoulda signed a deal for less money so his team could buy him help!  Or at least a deal for less years so he could have the option to opt out and sign a new contract if his team's situation isn't good!  I'm tired of hearing these players complain.  If you're signing a contract that's taking up 25% of your team's salary, then you should be prepared to deal with bearing the burden of carrying that team by yourself for as many years as you sign on for.  Joe Johnson should be prepared to provide 1/3 of his team's offense and defense.  If he can't he shouldn't have signed that deal, not he should demand a trade in 2 years.  Have some sense people.  I'm not going to sign a contract teaching in some awful school for $1,000,000 per year, then demand to be traded to a nice private school and be paid the same salary.  You get what you sign up for.

Chris Paul, if you can't carry a team by yourself and provide 25% of your team's offense and defense, then don't sign for max money.  You've got a very good PF on your team with you.  You've got a wing who was the key 6th man for a championship team 2 years back.  You've got a C who is overpaid but has averaged a double double over his career.  You've got another wing who used to be a stud, and is on the decline, but can still shoot 3's and his contract is up this season so you can get another player.  If you can't deal with that, then you shouldn't sign for max money.
