I doubt Hudson will ever be the shooter House is. House is a 40% 3pt shooter for his career, able to fire up 7-8 triples per 36 minutes and to score in bunches off the bench. What's there in Hudson's record that suggest he can even come close to this kind of production?

I admit it's fair to suggest that Hudson will be a better all-around scorer. But most of the role-players in the league stay around because they're specialists, not due to their versatility. Guys with well-rounded games, who are decent at a lot of things but aren't able to do anything at a very high-level, generally have successful careers in Europe, not in the NBA.

Defensively they're similar players: good effort, subpar lateral quickness for their size. House has the savvy and the experience that Hudson still lacks.

I'm going to qualify my post by saying that this is entirely theoretical.  At this point, Eddie is a more useful player than Lester.  Lester may or may not live up to what I'm about to say about him.

You shot your first argument down yourself - House may be a better pure shooter, but that's all he gives you on offense.  Lester can slash and finish around the basket and will likely get to the line more, and his shot from range seems to be decent as well, even if it's not ridiculous like Eddie.

I don't see the 'subpar lateral quickness' that you're claiming on Hudson.  Inexperience, definitely.  But I think he's quicker on defense than House, and it's not close.

I also think Hudson is already a better ball-handler than Eddie is.
