Great job at not screwing it ;). Has the highest peak for a player hands down, especially in such a draft.

Man!

I'm very tempted to do some wheeling and dealing here, but if the past CB Drafts have taught me, is that anytime I do trades, I end up screwing it.

This is probably going to be the first in my CB Draft gameplay that I'm doing it straight up. This is going to be fun, as long as you don't pick my guys.
In past CB Drafts and Pick 2 Drafts the amount of players were generally between 24 to 30 players. We also used just active players so by round 4, 72-90 players had been chosen and you were dealing with mostly role players from there. To get the best team, trading was almost required.

Here with 12 players and choosing the best players ever in their best seasons ever, there is little difference between players in round 2 and round 5 or so and even after 5 rounds you still have only 60 players taken. You can builds winning team in this draft without making trades.

Yeah, guess you're right. But it's quite too late for me to discuss deals now. I have planned my draftboard out.

I should have thought about that. It is quite a deeper draft.

Did you two not see the huge rule at the top of the original post not to mention unselected players?

Mentioning Scal is one thing, there is no chance he gets selected but you can't do what you did.

With the second overall pick 1(2) of the 2019 CelticsStrong Historical Draft..

The Boston Celtics select...

LeBron James

Man this hurt... this is sacrilegious.

I'm going to defend this pick now because I know this will be the least popular selection of the draft. I toyed with a couple of fan favorites in this spot but this was someone I just couldn't pass up on.

I don't like him, you don't like him, but the 2013 version of LeBron James was unstoppable.

26.8 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 7.3 apg, 1.7 spg, 0.9 bpg, 56.5 % fg, 40.6% 3pfg, 75.3 % ft

League MVP, first team all defense, Finals MVP, and a title.

His versatility, athleticism, skill, and pure dominance made this a no brainer for me.

I really think if we take off our green glasses and put aside our pure hatred of the man for what he has done to our team, we can all realize he is the 2nd greatest player of all time.

Regardless of who likes him, it's the right pick, IMO.

I'd give strong consideration to the 2012 LBJ.  I thought he was more dominant that season.  He was a monster in games 6 & 7 of the ECF against us.  Very badly needed some timely and somewhat lucky help from a teammate to win in 2013.  But I imagine you've already put a lot more thought into this than I have.

He has a top 5 peak for all time players and a very special skillset, so imo it was a great pick. Will disagree with the second greatest player of all time statement though, imo Jordan and **** are still the top two.

I guess I don't have to decide at the moment but I'm leaning 2013 for the 40 + % 3 point shooting
