Well, there were reports that he would be healthy by the playoffs, who knows if this may come back to bite them.

Has there been word of Thompson suddenly changing his mind and taking a buyout? I thought word was that Thompson refused taking less money on a buyout and so would be finishing this season in Cleveland unless the Cavs release him which they seemed reluctant to do.

They had to make room in order to sign Markief Morris. I wonder if Boogie latches on with a contender in time for the playoffs.

I doubt he would. He will need to prove to a contender that he is healthy and able to play quality ball first. Not sure he will have that opportunity.

I know some will say that Boogie could give this team more than Poirier in the playoffs but, that's not a given and since Cousins would probably never be good enough this year to displace Theis, Kanter or Williams, I would just rather go with the hard working guy that's been there all year.

My guess is they are letting him go as he wont make the playoff rotation with Morris in now, and he will have a chance to get picked up by someone else.

Unpopular opinion: we should pick him up. I believe that Boogie will still bounce back into a solid player (not superstar) for next year, and might give you 5-10 mins in the playoffs.

I'm in the same boat.

I'm not convinced VP is even worth a roster spot, might as well take a chance on a guy who can actually get buckets. As for those worried about his defense, and lateral quickness, we're getting along fine with Kanter at the 5.

Doesn't matter if they do, Ainge never wanted him before why would he cut someone now to bring him in? The guy can't guard a parking cone now days.

Yeah, which is why signing him would be a typical Sixers move. They continue to add the wrong pieces to a poorly constructed roster
