It's great that he is so eager to play, but it is probably the best thing for him and the team for now. He already has a huge contract so it must really be for love of the game. Hopefully for his sake (and the Sixers), taking it SUPER-easy with him will help his longevity.

He needs to win some league-wide accolades (All-NBA) this year to receive the maximum value of his contract. Over $25 million is at stake, so he still has financial reason to want to get in the court as much as possible.
More because he wants to prove himself, but money can’t be completely ignored.
