James Capers -  This is Capers first game with the Celtics in these playoffs.  In the past he has been good in some and bad in some.  He doesn't have a lot of controversy around him, however.  Both teams are 6-4 over their last 10 games with Capers.  His home W/L record this season is 49-17.  He is 7-4 when calling games when the home team is the underdog.  He calls an average of 41.3 fouls per game with 48% of those calls on the home team.

Tom Washington -  Washington called Game 4 of the Bucks series.  The Celtics lost that one but the  officiating was decent in that game.  As with many other refs he has been good in some games and bad in others but mostly he lets them play and there isn't a lot of controversy around him either.  The Celtics are 7-3 in their last 10 games with Washington while the Sixers are 6-4 in their last 10.  His home W/L record is 42-22.  He calls an average of 38.4 fouls per game with 48%% of those on the home team.

Zach Zarba - This is Zarba's first playoff game with the Celtics. As with the other refs, sometimes he is good and sometimes he isn't so good but there isn't a lot of controversy surrounding him.  They are 7-3 in their last 10 games with Zarba on the court while the Sixers are 2-8 in their last 10 games with Zarba.  His home W/L record this season is 30-37.  He calls an average of 37.6 fouls per game with 52.2% called on the home team.

Thanks, TP

That looks like a fair shake....

Love the media saying how the sixers could come come back and win this series....

Legler picks philly to win behind lights out shooting tonight.

Eh...they gotta say what they have to say to get ratings.

Saying something like: "The Sixers can be the first team in NBA history to come back from a 3-0 deficit!!"

sounds much better than:

"This series is basically over, can't wait for Boston vs Cleveland which we widely expect Cleveland to win in 4 or 5 games, just to get crushed by whoever comes out of the west."

I wish Joey Crawford would. He is far superior to the previous game refs.

Is it our turn to get some good "home cooking" from the refs yet?

Watch out for our defense tonight, could hold them under 90. Celtics have the best defense left in the playoffs.

You know that NBA writers are already working on their "another Warriors cakewalk to a title" pieces.

I think tonight will either be a double digit Cs win or a close Sixers win...don't really see a Sixers blowout or the Cs just getting by.

BOS has won 67% of its games and 61% of games decided by 5 points or less. PHI won 63% of its games and 43% of games decided by 5 points or less.

IOW, the Sixers perform much worse in close games and were the worst team entering the playoffs in really close games of 3 or less points. Might be due to their NBA worst turnover total and rate showing up when possessions are most critical (as happened in game 3).

I'll take our chances in a close game against the Sixers, but we'll have to force more turnovers than the last game when we lost the turnover battle 15-8 (compared to their season average of 16.5). Cannot get killed on the boards again either.

the sixers absolutely can win this series. they've found a counterpunch, the Celtics however are limited with what they can do as far as line up changes go. the only thing they can really do is do what they do better.
