Yes, it's called the wishbone collar, and I didn't like it, either. In fact, for the last 10 years or more the Lakers game jerseys have looked, IMO, like practice jerseys. Not that I want them to look better, mind you, but the new jerseys are definitely an improvement.

They really should just discontinue the stupid light-blue MPLS jerseys and stick with their traditional purple/yellow.

It's almost a guarantee that there will be comparisons to Showtime though. The LeBron = Magic storyline will be too much for ESPN to ignore, sadly. Despite all the differences in playstyle, I bet people in the mainstream sports media will still try and say Showtime has returned, or something like that

The Lakers can bring back the 1980's jersey, which is a great idea, especially with all the Magic-LeBron comparisons.

As for the Celtics decision to bring back their 1980's retro look, they decided to just build a championship team to compete for the next decade. I think I like the Celtics retro idea better.

They screwed up the road jerseys.  What's up with the black stripe?  Just toss that.

Also, they missed a golden opportunity to go with gold block numbers on the white alternates.

Although, I absolutely despise that organization, a good call going closer back to the Showtime unis.
