Memphis is being careful with his knee, I don't blame them for that.

No question, you don’t want this pick to convey in 2020. It’s not just that it’s unprotected in 2021. It’s that it’s much easier to trade if it’s still a pick rather than a player you’ve chosen, signed, and placed on your roster. This is important given how many young players are on the roster at this moment. You’re gonna have to trade some of these guys, or at least some guide picks, because you just can’t keep adding this much young talent year after year.

You make a valid point. However calling Danny’s draftees in the last 10 years in the middle of the draft young talent is a bit of a stretch ... we were much better off trading the pick(s)

Morant is looking like a stud, and the Grizzlies team has some gritty players.   Up to 5 wins now.

All the teams in he West, except warriors right now, are better... spurs Portland even new Orleans with Williamson will have a better record in the end

They’ve beaten the Jazz, Spurs, Wolves. Morant looks legit.

If the pick doesn’t convey this year I really, really doubt we get a top pick the year after. Would need a lot of lottery luck.

Morant is a Celtics draft pick killer. Not loving him at all.

It's a long season and the Grizzles are 5-7, not 10-2.

Besides they need to be ok enough for the pick to convey.

I'm different than most.  I birdin the hand is better than 2 in the bush.  Trade the pick or let it convey this year.  No guarantee it will even be a lottery pick the following year.  Why wait 2 years for a pick to not be a lottery pick?

Forum poll’s too small of a sample size for now. Hoping for 50 votes at the very least. SBNation poll is now 156 for this year, 150 for next year :)

you wait because the NBA is all about risky gambles. Plus we don't have salary for another player

Memphis is 5-7 but they are 24th in DRtg and 26th in ORtg. I think there are, at least, 3 teams below the Grizzlies right now that will definitely leap them.

My prediction is the pick winds up, like, 8.

I'd much rather wait for the pick until the next year.
Memphis will be bad next year as well, and the draft class will probably be stronger, while pick has a chance to go higher.
