There's an old NBA adage that you can't judge a team until the 20 game mark.

We're at game 19 and just gave up 65 points to the Knicks in the first half, soooooooo... lol

We're clearly not as bad as we look right now, because it's definitely in our heads at this point, affecting not only our shooting but our overall effort and intensity.

But, yeah, the fact that we're still in this rut and have actually regressed from the beginning of the season is pretty concerning. I have my suspicions at the major causes of this, but I think it's multifactorial overall - including poor coaching and overall offensive philosophy, adjustments to new roles, Hayward working his way back, and overall chemistry building issues.

Is it possible the Celtics have actually gotten worse since the season started?

My emotional gut-level disgust for how much worse the team is than I expected it to be is beginning to override my rational brains continued insistence that it is too soon to draw any harsh or serious conclusions about the team.

Amen to that. It's taking all my self-restraint to not let panicking hot takes fly on here, lol

Even if we did all out panic none of the core pieces make sense in terms of a trade. Kyrie is an expiring and if he's willing to resign then you kind of have to sign him and then worse comes to worse you look to trade him 6 months to a year after he resigns. Brown is at the lowest point of his trade value right now and Hayward has negative trade value, Tatum is still untouchable no matter what's happened, and horford isn't really the problem and is also probably not going to bring back enough value in a trade to be worth moving anyway.

They could try to shake things up by moving bench guys like Rozier and smart and Morris, but that's probably not going to fix the core issues that the team has at the moment and might just serve to make the offense better while making the defense worse and therefore just watering the team down and not improving things any.

I'm not going to panic, but I'm not going to be watching as many games, either.  The team just isn't very entertaining right now.

I'm pressing the button now.

We can't be losing to bottom feeding teams. There's clearly something wrong with the squad.

It is in the sense that other teams are getting better and we’re not.

Yeah, it's time. This team is a joke right now, and it starts at the very top with Brad simply failing to get his guys' heads on straight and keeping them motivated, let alone this senseless offensive philosophy that he is too stubborn to modify or diverge from.

I’ll panic if we don’t win the East. I’m confident that we’ll figure things out before the playoffs start.

I feel you.

Even if this team was winning it just doesn't feel like this team is a TEAM.

There's just something unlikeable about this team.
