My only real hang up is Curry's health.  If he isn't 100% (or near it), then I think the Warriors will lose any of their last few series.
so re-evaluating.  With Embiid being banged up I'm switching to Toronto over Philly.  I do think it will go 7.  Still going Milwaukee over Boston in 5.  I think Denver beats Portland in 7.  And because of the injuries to Curry and Thompson, I'm switching to Houston in 6 instead of GS in 7.  I think Milwaukee beats Toronto in 7 and Houston beats Denver in 6.  Milwaukee beats Houston in 7 to win the title.

I will give you credit for going bold with this one. Not leaving a lot of wiggle room. Obviously we all hope you are wrong.

Yeah, sticking with this one is ridiculously hilarious, but it is right in line with Moranis’ nature of being a complete contrarian.

I made that call before the game yesterday.  Boston obviously looked great.  Gives me great hope going forward as they really put it together and played at that high of a level basically the whole game (bit of a hiccup in the 2nd quarter, but otherwise a fabulous game on both ends of the floor).  Hopefully game 1 wasn't an aberration and just a sign of things to come.

should have just stuck to my guns with Philly over Toronto in 6, of course Embiid is more beat up then I thought at the time, I just didn't realize that Philly could actually win a game in Toronto with Embiid looking like crap (though he looked much better in game 3).

Not possible. Toronto in 6 now?

I think Philly wins game 6 and Toronto closes it out at home in game 7.  The reason I flipped my prediction from the start of the playoffs to before the series started was Embiid looked a lot worse than I thought he would and he still looks awful.  I'm honestly surprised they won game 2 with Embiid playing and looking as bad as he did.  Embiid looked pretty good in game 3, but has since looked awful the last 2.  I think Embiid has one more good game in him in game 6 so I think Philly wins that game, but I'd be surprised if Embiid can put together consecutive games where his health holds up.  What is so striking in the series is that even when Embiid looks awful the Sixers are a positive with him on the floor.

Here are his +- stats for the series
Game 1 - 30 minutes, +4
Game 2 - 32 minutes, +3
Game 3 - 28 minutes, +31
Game 4 - 35 minutes, +17
Game 5 - 31 minutes, -15

Here is the team without Embiid on the floor in those games
Game 1 - 18 minutes, -17
Game 2 - 16 minutes, +2
Game 3 - 20 minutes, -10
Game 4 - 13 minutes, -22
Game 5 - 17 minutes, -21

In other words, the Sixers fall apart without Embiid in the game even when he doesn't play well.  Embiid's health has been the biggest factor in this outcome.  At the start of the playoffs I thought he'd be healthier which is why I went Sixers in 6, but before the series started I switched my prediction to Raptors in 7 because I didn't think Embiid would hold up well enough and thus far he hasn't.  Maybe he has 2 more games in him, but as I said earlier, I'm sticking with Raptors in 7.

Embiid continuing to be the man for Philly as he is +28 in 25 minutes, the team is -17 in the 5 minutes he has been on the bench.

EDIT: he goes to the bench and the Raptors immediately score 3 points, -20 in the 6 minutes he hasn't been out there.  It really is an astonishing +- line, especially given how bad Embiid's stat lines have looked in the series.

There is a lot of concern he is going to get sick again going through customs in Toronto. I am not sure if he will get through unscathed.

Conference Finals

Man, I can't believe I picked Toronto to come out of the East after all the trash I've talked about them but with the addition of Gasol and Siakam's huge leap this year nobody else seems quite ready unless we can put it together.

Pretty good predictions if I say so myself. 13 out of 14 series; thought Denver would win that Game 7 and underestimated Philly in both series. Can anybody top it?

I’d take Raptors in 7 if I thought Kawhi was healthy. He clearly is ailing and take Warriors in 5.

Toronto has one of the very select few who can challenge the Warriors in the playoffs... Kawhi Leonard.

The reason the Raptors traded for Kawhi Leonard is finally here.

There are 396 players with over 1,500 minutes in the postseason.

Among them, ranking in Win Shares Per 48
1. Michael Jordan
2. LeBron James
3. Kawhi Leonard
----
391. DeMar DeRozan

i was right!

Grats to those who originally nailed a Warriors vs Raptors NBA Finals.

But nobody hit the Raptors winning it all.
